Christmas Eve PotBless!

Hi bloggers & friends! Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas season this year!

~.~.~.~

On Christmas eve, Melvin & I went to a friend's place at Bukit Batok for Christmas eve dinner and we all brought our own food or so called the 'potbless' style.

Seems like many of them are busy preparing at the kitchen.

....and a few of them are trying to weight themselves to see the result before and after the dinner. *LoL

Mixed Salad with Eggs!

Steamed potatoes!

Chicken meat loaf!

The shepherd pie - near to the house owner's office! He claimed it is one of the best in Singapore :)

More smashed potatoes!

Fried rice from downstairs hawker stall - the house owner's all time favorite dish!

TADAA! So here are the food we prepared and the 7(seven) of us need to finish everything up! Btw, there's a whole chicken from 'Ker Ai Ji' inside the tapau box each - so two whole chickens!!!! XP

Our self-made fruit punch. Cocktail + Sprite + Carlsberg beer!

Not to forget, some healthy and some unhealthy food.... hehe!

So we all ate our dinner and all eyes on the TV screen!

Guess what we were watching??

Dr. Seus - The Grinch..... Wana steal some Christmas spirits away??

We didn't manage to finish all and we all were out of breaths to go for another bite!

Then comes our minum-minum session.

JD & coke...tasted like somekind of old chinese medicine~ Prefer Chivas or rum with coke :)

Absolute Vodka with Sprite... not bad... like the taste, not too heavy for me! :)

After that, we played PS2 until 11pm, bounce off and that's all guys....

Have a joyful Christmas!

Christmas Flea Market:

This is a flea market I went to last Saturday before going for the vPOST Nuffnang Singapore Christmas Party in DXO. They did this flea market last month as well but I was unable to attend during that time. Here are some details of the event.

Date: 20th December 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 4.00pm - 10.00pm
Venue: 8Q SAM (The New Wing of Singapore Arts Museum)
No 8 Queen Street. It's behind the Singapore Art Museum and next to Allson Hotel.
It's also near to City Hall MRT & Dhoby Ghaut MRT.

Here's the map. SAM is a big place and you won't miss it. Or else kindly ask any of the passer-by will know the place :)

At first when I found the market, I have no idea whether this is the correct place or not. when I look up high, I saw these banners which have confirmed the destination for me.

Mostly girls who went to the flea market and they really sell a lot a lot of cheap girl's stuff such as accessories, clothing, handbags and anything you need from head to toe!

Some of the stalls displaying their collectible items which can't be use and for decoration in our display cabinet or you can just put it on your study table as a paper weight.

Some of the things are kinda new and some of the things are pretty old. Somehow I don't really dare to buy 2nd hand clothes especially pants. Imagine what have they can wearing those. Hmmm......

This is an old school Rollei A110 model camera with Tessar lens and it's only for S$80. It uses the old 110mm film but the condition is not working so you may just collect it for fun.

This one even cooler, doesn't look like a camera at all. This S$100 German made Minox is more than 100 years old (since early 19th century) and you need to pull it from the center to both left to right to enable you the release the hiding viewfinder, and what's a viewfinder for? Google it out!

I went to almost the end of the flea market and I found these cute and colourful cameras. The colours are really attracts me as my first thought of these film cameras were toys, but they are actually not and you can take pictures if you have loaded films into the film compartment...duh.....! You can chose from all kinds of different Holga 120 range and 135 range as well. Holga 120 is compatible with 120mm films while the Holga 135 is compatible with 35mm films which are more common in any camera shops. Prices are between $60-90. Mari-mari murah murah!! XD

Thinking of getting one in the future. Just as an collectible item.
This flea market is GOOD!

Dog Show @ KDCA

"WOFF WOFF~"
(means 'HELLO' in dog language XD)

To all ya dog lovers! This is a yearly event that you
MUST NOT miss out!

Enjoy the pictures.....

This event was held on the 19th of October 2008. I rushed to KDCA after fetching Hoon Leng from town. So I did not manage to snap some of the footage for the first few rounds of the competition.

When we reached KDCA, it was a hard time to look for a parking lot for my sister's SLK. So I was forced to make an illegal parking so that I won't miss the show. When I go out from the car I can see a lot of cars were parked illegaly as well or they normally phrased it as double parking. Didn't bother so much and quickly rush into the hall and it was really crowded and packed with human and dogs. Hehe.....

Harn Sheng was there very early and I went to his location to take this shot. Even though we were not the official photographers but we have the right to get so close to the arena and even they allowed a few of us to go inside the arena to get a good shot especially during the prize giving. Basically the lighting in the arena was not bright enough and I had to slower down the shutter speed and try not to pump up the ISO so that I can do some cropping jobs later on without any obvious noises but I think that was a mistake. Somehow I had difficulty on adjusting the correct white balance but this happens to Harn Sheng's D200 as well. Hoon Leng said that his Canon 350D has the best WB control for this lighting enviroment. Somehow everything we took turn yellowish or greenish.

I was amazed by a small girl who brought her Chihuahua for this competition. She was really brave but accompanied by his dad of course. So she did what she supposed to do and got a few medals for her Chihuahua. There was a time where I was trying to figure out why is the Chihuahua is so afraid and shaking during the walk with another two dogs on the second round. Perhaps it was really scared with the dogs. Well, size does matter for someone even for these cute little animals.

Girl and Chihuahua. Both so cute! Wana pinch-pinch! :)

Is this a lion or a dog? I call this 'Liog', or 'Don'. Impressive.

Uufff uuff ~ "Can I have some ice now? It's freaking hot in herre!!"

Everyone got this free sample home. They said it is very expensive. More expensive than human food?? LoL

Wow! The dogs sure gonna be happy to look at all this prizes? Nahhh...I think they will prefer Eukanuba more. :)

Tired? Exhausted? Dehydrated? Get a 100Plus to refresh yourself!

WHO LET DA DAWGS OUT? WHO? WHO? WHO?

And the winner is.... walao eh... these two dogs so shy infront of the camera leh...!! XD

Some TQ gift for the judges :)

"Hmmm..... Whose good work is this? You better tell me the truth..."-"wooff~"

Looks like the dogs left some souveniers for everyone to enjoy!

I would like to end this post by saying,"Save the dogs and kill the cats...." Haha.....Just kidding!

Merry Christmas D'Gap

It was two years ago back in October 2006, there was a time where nothing seems to matter and yet no accident that can happen when I first attend D'Gap Baptist Church. I was suffering from a relationship brokerage not long ago during that time and was looking for a way to heal my heart that has broken apart until when I join D'Gap and all of the sudden, things began to change. Changes that had influenced me to acknowledge who is He to me and as His believer, I began to put my faith to Him again as I have been running away from him in my past relationship. All that has happened had become a history in my life. All the darkness that I've been through have been lighten by He who has the authority in my life. He had guided me to learn to rely on Him wether there is a need or not for me to do that. I felt warm again whenever I step into His church and the people who He has sent who has blessed me in every single thing. I don't know how to repay the goodness of these people and blessed be the Lord that one day I will pay back His grace and kindness that he's doing in my life.

God truly has answered my prayer and even now, I realized how much challenges that I needed to go through at this time of world recession and retrenchment. Some said it is not wise to resign from your current work and it's pretty hard to get another job with a better prospect as many companies had began to be very careful on who they are hiring and the best for them is not to hire but to fire those who are not capable and did not perform well for their company. As for me, I know that many of my family members, friends and church members had been praying hard for me and I can't be think of anyway to show my gratefulness to them but to trust in the Lord that all their prayers will come through including my own. That really happen but God is an awesome God, He can do whatever He wants and don't simply ask because whatever you ask for will not be given unless you have been through struggles and trials where He will test your patient. That is the hardest part of all. Thinking back to the time when the works and achievements that He has done in my life, I felt the joy and greatness in Him for the path that He has prepared for me as mentioned in His word "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11

Here I wanted to say, in this Christmas season, we must always give thanks for who you are, no matter bad or good, we must continue praising Him. No man can overcome any difficulty on his own but with His strength, man can learn how to be righteous and to serve those who are in need. This is a season of giving, we had took a lot of things from Him and now He wants us to do a little favor by giving others with open heart. Learn to be appreciative and grateful to your family members, relatives, friends, schoolmates, colleagues and even to your pets. As we begin to learn how to give and hear from Him, greater rewards will shower us for generations and generations to come.

Thanks to all the family members of D'Gap Baptist Church. I have been very blessed for the past two years. May God bless all of you and have a wonderful Christmas!

*Thanks to CK for the pictures.
