The Worst Fish Head Curry Suing Google and a Blogger?

Nowadays, Malaysia have been poured with many bad stories on the newspaper and television. One is the famous dog abuser in YouTube but it was first posted in Facebook by a woman who found the video in a thumb drive somewhere in a shopping mall. The one I'm about to say here is an owner of a Indian cuisine restaurant suing Google and a local blogger. The law sue was filed at RM6mil! Not 6 ringgit or 60 cents but RM6mil with 6 zeros at the back!

Here's the article from The Star:

KOTA KINABALU: A popular Indian cuisine restaurant here that is recommended by travel guide Lonely Planet, is suing a blogger and Google for defamation.

Jothy's Fish Head Curry restaurant director Tharumaraj Sivaperumal filed a RM6mil civil suit at the Kota Kinabalu High Court here Monday, naming blogger Poh Huai Bin as first defendant and California-based Google Inc as second defendant.

The suit is arising from some allegedly defamatory statements about Jothy's Fish Head Curry restaurant posted in May last year by Poh, originally from Sibu in Sarawak and now residing in Kuala Lumpur.
Jothy's, represented by counsel Marcel Jude Joseph, is seeking exemplary or punitive damages to deter them from making similar statements in future and an order to restrain Poh from defaming the restaurant on the Internet.

Jothy's is also seeking an order from the court to remove the offending articles from Google and other popular search engines used on the Internet.
The company claimed that the alleged defamatory statements published by both the defendants tended to prejudice against the plaintiff in the conduct of its business and deter others from dealing with it and were injurious to the business.

As a result of the defendants' action, the plaintiff claimed it had suffered loss and damage, and its reputation had been affected both locally and internationally.
The plaintiff claimed that the good reputation of the restaurant, in operation since 1987, was known globally and reported as a well-known destination in Kota Kinabalu and Sabah, in the global television and book series Lonely Planet, referred to as an authority for tourists throughout the world.

The plaintiff also claimed that the posting and articles of the first defendant were available and read by Internet users throughout Sabah and Malaysia, adding that the second defendant conducted business within the jurisdiction of Malaysian courts because its search engine was used regularly by Internet users in the country.

Google opens up an office in Malaysia and the very first thing they got is a RM6mil law suit. EPIC!

Temptations: 7atenine @ The Ascott, Kuala Lumpur

A few months back which was on the 27th October 2010 to be exact (that's approximately about 3 months back, time passes really fast!), I managed to get an invite for this event from Audrey. So I am here to say that I am very grateful to her and of course Encore for organizing this event. Anyway, I never thought that I will get a pair of invitation because it wasn't mentioned and I was rushing off to KL after work thinking that I'm going to be all alone through out the event.

Rooms For Rent Singapore

Although I have stayed in Singapore for more than a year, I have no rooms for rent in Singapore so whichever particular way I hope that I am not misleading my dear blog readers.

Some of you might have known that before I settled in KL, initially a Sabah boy like me was from Singapore. Well, it was a good experience I would said although it's kind of hectic life for me to be working there since I'm involved in engineering and during that time, everywhere in Singapore was doing many developing projects such as the Orchard ION and Marina IR. For people who are not familiar with that place will find it a bit rushing but for people who wanted to start a career there or get a change of environment especially for working Malaysians or PR there. I have some good informations to share here.

My First 2011 Sunrise Experience @ Broga Hill, Semenyih

Happy New Year 2011
to all my readers out there.
May you have a blast & better year ahead ya!

How did you celebrate the coming of a new year? As for me, I had a pretty good time welcoming it with a BBQ gathering with blogger and friends then countdown at the Curve (which I will blog about it next) and the most random thing I did is to catch my first 2011 sunrise experience at Broga Hill, Semenyih. Lately, Broga Hill has becomes a famous hiking place for hikers, shutter bugs & scenery lovers. It is located not very far away from the University of Nottingham, at between the university and Semenyih town.
We started our journey to Broga Hill from Mid Valley Megamall at about 4.40am and we reached the destination at 5.20pm. From what I have remembered through out the journey, we have passed three toll plazas. The first one was at Cheras, we paid 50 cents and the rest of the two tolls were RM1.00 and 90 cents. By using the LEKAS highway, we passed by the Semenyih town and the landmark that anyone won't missed which is the University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus. The entrance of Broga Hill is quite obscure and not easily spotted because it did not have any signboard. During the journey, we witnessed our first car accident of 2011. It was indeed terrible. I hope that the car driver and the passenger can survive the accident.

How to Gain Blog Traffic?

Blogger Trick and Tips: 6 FREE ways to DOUBLE your blog traffic in less than a week!!!

6 FREE WAYS TO DOUBLE YOUR BLOG TRAFFIC IN LESS THAN A WEEK:
Everyone wants traffic. You set up a blog with great content but no one is visiting your blog, so what is the use of it. So, you need at least a decent amount of traffic and what's great than getting that traffic for FREE? So, here is the good list of 6 Free ways to get traffic to your blog.

1. SEARCH ENGINE: Yea! It brings lots of traffic to your blog. There are millions of people search in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN everyday. So, if your blog has so many good posts and is well indexed by google, etc... You will get a good amount of traffic via search engines. There are a few steps to look at if you want a decent amount of traffic from the search engines like "submitting your blog sitemap to google", yahoo to index you blog pages very quickly and the other important one is adding meta tags to your blog. If you follow these two simple steps, then you will get a decent traffic (massive traffic if your content is good).

2. Submitting your blog to Blog Directories: You may know this before, submitting your blog to blog directories will bring you a good traffic. Here is a good list of blog directories (there are so many directories but the below one's will bring you a good traffic). Most of these blog directories ask you to register before you submit your blog. My suggestion is create a new email address solely for this purpose so your personal emails are not flooded with the emails sent by the blog administrators, etc. You can find the blog directories list by just Googling them! :)

3. Participate in forums, groups, etc: Just go to google and enter your [major keyword + forum] or [keyword+groups] and search. Suppose, your blog is about blogging, then search 'Blogging forum'. You will find some forums, groups related to your site. Register in the forums and post articles, etc with a link back to your blog (as a signature). Answer questions, clarify doubts and provide a link to your blog BUT DO NO SPAM!

4. Social Bookmarking: Social Bookmarking is another way to build good traffic to your website/blog. If you don't know what Social Bookmarking is
"Social Bookmarking is a practice of saving Bookmarks, tagging the posts with keywords in a website". Bookmarking means saving a specific website url (address) in your browser that you wish to visit later. There are so many Social Bookmarking sites like del.icio.usdiggfurl and technorati.
One good thing about these Social bookmarking sites is,you will get instant traffic.Just register with them, store your bookmarks, tags... and you are done! See your site meter blasting with traffic.

5. Submit Articles to Article Directories: Submitting articles to article directories is another effective way to build more traffic. By submitting to them, your articles get massive exposure and gain you more traffic. Some of the popular article directories are goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com, articlecity.com, etc.
There are hundreds of article directories, just google it.

6. Leaving Comments on other blogs: Leaving comments with a link back to your blog is another good thing to do. Leaving comments in the related blogs is more useful and it also increases your page rank. Always leave good comments and don't spam (by placing links like 'click here' like that).

That's all for now. I hope you find this blog entry helpful. Happy blogging! :D
