The J Spring Fashion Show @ KLCC

The Petronas Twin Towers or also known as the KLCC has been very happening lately with all the concert, events and also the hype from the Formula F1 last week. Not to forget, the The J Spring Fashion Show which was held at the Skybridge  of stunning Petronas Twin Towers located at Level 42 on the 19th March 2012. 


A model is wearing a garment created by Shirley Wong from Malaysia, a student of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, during the J Spring Fashion Show.

The J Spring Fashion Show is a part of a chronicle of four high end fashion shows at the world’s most outstanding venues in 2012 hosted by none other than J Model Management. Held more than 170 meter s above sea level, the most anticipated show stopper was the couture dress designed entirely using sugar by a local cake house. 



Model cum global fashion show organizer Jessica Minh Anh attracted attentions during the J Autumn Fashion Show on England’s Towers Bridge last year said, “We are very excited as we’ve found an unconventional design that reflects the artistic yet realistic lifestyle of the new generation”. 



Each model walked the five kilometers ramp during the 90 minutes show. The show was choreographed by K.Knight, famous for his work with MTV and well known singer Beyonce Knowles. 


Organizer of J Spring Fashion Show, Jessica Minh Anh, strutted down the runway with a 'wedding' inspired dress by a Limkokwing University student.

The show featured designers from 10 different countries including, United States, Australia, Netherlands, Germany and Brazil. This includes top designers, Paul Costelloe from Britain, Addy Krommenacker from the Netherlands, Susana Bettencourt from Portugal, Gottex and Gideon Oberson from New York, Chula from Spain, Katelyn Aslett from Australia and Smriti Gupta from India. 

One of British fashion leader said, “I feel honored to be a part this history on the landmark bridge and bring my garments to Asia’. The show also included a special slot by Limkokwing University of Creative Technology to showcase its high end collections which combines the best of both East and West. 

“We’re excited to be the first to showcase at such a prestigious landmark for Malaysia to the world,” says Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, Associate Vice President for Talent Development of Limkokwing. “This is the first time a university has been given the chance to be part of a fashion show like this. There is also a huge sense of national pride to be representing Malaysia and claiming our presence in the fashion industry.” 

The collection of 15 glamorous pieces aims to showcase a blend of ethnically influenced fashion from Asia and Africa, by the University’s talented young designers. The eclectic mix of cultural references in the collection is also mirrored by the student designers themselves all hailing from different corners of the globe. Limkokwing was also the first Malaysian university chosen to showcase at London Fashion Week just last month. 

Limkokwing is Malaysia’s leading university for creativity and innovation, and now hosts 30,000 students across its campuses in 8 countries, in 3 continents, including a landmark base in London’s Piccadilly. Its students are from 165 countries, and the university’s website received close to a billion visitors from 222 countries and territories in 2011.
