Chinese New Year 3 Course Menu at The Forum KL

Happy Chinese New Year to all my readers. I wish you best of wealth and health for this year of the Dog. So recently I went to The Forum to check out their newly launched Chinese New Year menu. For those who are not really familiar with The Forum, it's located at The Signature Serviced Suites & Studios in Desa Sri Hartamas right beside the Shell station.

The Forum is a place where classic all-day breakfasts meets authentic Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine. You can get local cuisine such as Ayam Masak Lemak, Mee Siam, Nasi Goreng Forum to Western cuisine like Steak Frites and variety of burgers. Anyway, the highlight in this blog post is their Chinese New Year menu.

There's two sets that we can choose in their Chinese New Year menu. Set A comes with fresh salmon Yee Sang. What I like about this Yee Sang is that the ingredients are freshly prepared and it's definitely a good dish to begin with.

For set B, instead of the Yee Sang, we get to indulge on the steamed chicken siew mai. The wasabi sauce is one of the unique element I found in this dish. It's quite unusual to serve wasabi sauce together with siew mai but I find its pairing to be perfectly good.

Other than that, we also get to have steamed paus for appetizer. It comes with salted egg and kaya filling for set A and baked bean and salted egg filling for set B.

Here comes the main, we had the udon wok fried with kimchi, fresh vegetable, seaweed and sesame. I enjoyed this dish since I have not tried udon with kimchi before. The udon is soft but tasty and works well together with the prawn tempura.

The next main is the Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Grilled Chicken. The chicken is cooked nicely, tasty and tender at the same time. As for the spaghetti, it has a really good spicy kick in it. If you are not a fan of spicy food, you may want to skip this but if you are a fan of it then I will suggest that this is a must try dish.

As for the dessert, we get a slice of their cake of the day. The chocolate cake that we had that day is really good and the flavor was rich with chocolate but it's not too sweet for my liking.

To wash down the food, I ordered a cup of Matcha Green Tea Latte (RM11) which was quite decent.

I found the Butter Coffee (RM14) to be quite unique. It comes with a shot of expresso and a lot of butter! :D

This Chinese New Year menu in The Forum only cost RM58 including 6% GST.
