Lost World of Tambun Feted at Malaysia Tourism Council Awards 2018

It was certainly a proud moment for Sunway Theme Park’s Lost World Of Tambun at the Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Awards 2018, which was commemorated by a Gala Dinner at the Palace of the Golden Horses recently. The action packed, wholesome family adventure destination proved itself worthy of its moniker when it won the Gold Award for Best Family Theme Park in Malaysia at the ceremony.

Hosted by the Malaysia Tourism Council (MTC), the night’s programme celebrated over 75 outstanding Malaysian organisations that are strong supporters of the country’s tourism industry. Receiving the award on behalf of Lost World Of Tambun was Nurul Nuzairi Bin Mohd Azahari, the General Manager of Lost World Of Tambun.

With about 1,000 attendees celebrating the occasion, the ceremony and gala dinner was also attended by several VIPs including Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Azizah binti Dr Wan Ismail, the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia; Dato’ Noor Zaleha Baharuddin, Organising Chairman of the MTC Gold Awards 2018; and Mr Uzaidi Udanis, President of the Malaysia Tourism Council.

“We are extremely humbled and grateful to the Malaysian Tourism Council for this very honourable recognition. This award certainly bears testament and is a strong representation of the hard work and unrelenting efforts made by everyone at Lost World Of Tambun and Sunway Theme Parks for constantly raising the bar in making us a destination of choice, not only by visitors from within Malaysia, but by visitors from abroad as well,” said Nurul Nuzairi.

“As such, this award serves not only as a validation of our efforts, but also an inspiration for all of us to continue setting higher standards to further boost the country’s economy through tourism. At this point, I would also like to thank all our visitors and guests who have made Lost World Of Tambun their destination of choice for time out with family and loved ones, as they are the ultimate reason that we do what we do. Therefore, we share this award together with them,” he added.

Besides winning the MTC Gold Award, Lost World Of Tambun has also been the recipient of several other awards and accolades in recent times. Among them include the Gold Award for the World’s Best Resort at the prestigious FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards; the Best Family Holiday Resort award by Expatriate Lifestyle; and two awards by Tourism Malaysia which include the “Exciting Tourist Attraction Award” and the “‘Innovative Tourist Attraction” Award in the ‘Natural Attraction’ category.

The self-contained Lost World Of Tambun is cocooned within a lush tropical jungle consisting of natural hot springs, breath-taking limestone features and natural surroundings dating back over 400 million years. Painstakingly etched into this natural heritage are seven amazing attraction parks, coined by locals and foreigners alike to be the ultimate day and night destination for a unique family-friendly eco-adventure excursion.

Those who have not experienced this national gem (and those who want more!) now have more reason to visit the park during the year-end school holiday season, as everybody’s favourite iconic orange cat – Garfield - will liven the goings on at the park together with his friends.

From 24 November 2018 to 1 January 2019, visitors may enjoy a plethora of fun-filled activities from performances by the classic cartoon characters to keep them amused all day long including chances to win attractive prizes, meet and greet sessions, pool parties and a host of other exciting happenings, only at Lost World Of Tambun.
