Chinese New Year 2019 Menu at Youmiqi Cuisine, Old Klang Road

Less than three weeks to go and we will be celebrating the Chinese New Year festival. It also represents the time where family members, relatives and friends will gather together to have a good meal with each other for CNY reunion dinner or to have a good time dining together for the festive. If you are scratching your head to find a venue for the said dinner, I have a recommendation that caters for up to 12 diners per table. Youmiqi Cuisine – located strategically in Old Klang Road, only a few metres away from Mid Valley Megamall is currently offering their new Chinese New Year menu.

Their CNY menu caters from 4 diners up to 12 diners offering a wide variety of tantalizing dishes that will definitely satisfy people of all ages. Below are some of the dishes that I had and I found some of the dishes to be my favorite.

First up, the staff of Youmiqi Cuisine prepared some fresh grass shrimps to be cooked on the table which has a stove build into it. The dish is called the Flaming Prawns and I find that it has its own excitement watching the grass shrimps to be cooked until it turned red and ready to be eaten.

I was quite happy with the size of the grass shrimp but I still wish that we were given more than one cause the flesh was really juicy and sweet!

Moving on, we were presented with a huge looking of wok that's called the Seafood Wok consisting of Dragon grouper, clam, cuttlefish, meat balls, fu-chuk, yam and topped with some fresh coriander.

The soup base was poured into the Seafood Wok and while it's being cooked, we proceed to the next dish.

The next dish was the Pan Fried Black Fungus with Pork Paste. This is something I think children will enjoy this as I did as well. It had a good flavor from the black fungus that went quite well with the savoury pork paste.

Next, I had the Braised Broccoli with Abalone Slice which I personally enjoy. The braised broccoli was quite enjoyable on its own and I think having the abalone slices were a bonus to compliment this dish.

Moving on, what is a Chinese New Year dinner without the Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs? Haha... This is a must-order dish no matter which restaurant I go to. Youmiqi Cuisine's sweet and sour pork ribs were succulent and the sauce was well balanced between the sweetness and the sourness. The only comment is maybe the bones were quite huge and I feel that children may have difficulty eating it.

Another vegetable dish to balance out the meat dishes... Haha! It's the Mushrooms with Dried Oyster & Black Moss. I really like the taste of this dish and the size of the mushrooms were quite decent too.

For spicy food lover, this Spicy Crabs dish will definitely give you that spicy kick. This spicy crabs cooked in Sichuan style were quite appetizing and theres's plenty of flesh inside the crab.

One of the main highlight dish, it's the Roasted Standing Ovation (Chicken). This chicken was roasted to perfection and visually interesting to me. The chicken meat was juicy, tender and I didn't feel 'jelak' at all for having too much of this roasted chicken meat.

This Salt & Pepper White Bait was also quite unique to me since I have not eaten white bait before. This dish is definitely good to go with beer and can easily become one of my favorite beer snack.

After a period of time, the Seafood Wok is finally ready. The combination of all the ingredients made the soup incredibly rich and sweet with the flavour from the sea. I had a few rounds of soup for this one.

As for dessert, I had the Shun De Signature Dessert which was likeable for everyone especially for the older generations as it is not too sweet for their liking.

Last but not least, it's time to toss the Prosperous Lou Sang. We requested this to be at the end of the meal as we did not want to make the table to look messy in the beginning. Chinese New Year would not be complete without tossing some good lou sang with family and friends. The lou sang prepared by Youmiqi Cuisine is definitely one of the healthiest lou sang I ever had. It comes with a some thick slices of salmon and plenty of shredded vegetables.

If you want to have a satisfying Chinese New Year dinner to remember, this is one of the restaurant that you can consider. For more information about their menu, you can check out the information below.
