Man of Steel (2013) Movie Review

Have you guys watch the latest Superman movie 'Man of Steel'? I've watched it last week and once more again yesterday in conjunction of Plus Size Kitten's blog anniversary. I've actually struggled not to fall asleep during the movie since it was shown in Beanie Plex @ TGV 1Utama. It's actually quite comfortable although it would be better if they removed middle partition making the two beanie bags joining together become one. I have not tried their LUXE hall yet but I am told there's a nice little table on the side of every seats. Anyway, do read until the end of this blog post to find out my opinion on this movie.

Director: Zack Snyder
Writers: David S. Goyer (screenplay), David S. Goyer (story)
Stars: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon

Storyline: A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Plot holes (spoiler): There are just too many plot holes to be stated here from this movie especially with Superman's father appearance in the scouter's ship and also General Zod's ship. First thing, Jor-El (Superman's biological father) only appeared in the scouter's ship after putting in the command key into the socket and the same happened when Lois Lane was in General Zod's ship then how come he just magically appeared when General Zod's command key was inserted in the scouter's ship? Also, if he was the one who designed General Zod's ship, changing the atmosphere to suit human, opens and closes door and even send out the pod where Lois was in it back to Earth then why didn't he just take over the entire ship and warp it to somewhere else? He even has the capability to program his consciousness to what he sees and react into it, the World Engine that can reshape Earth into planet Krypton yet their planet exploded even with such high technology that has already existed.
The other noticeable plot hole was when Superman decided to show up at his adopted parents house fully suited and the police officers who drove Lois all the way there did not even question the identity of Superman.

My Conclusion: Better than Superman Returns which was released in 2006 but I was expecting more. I like the new outfit which is actually based on the New 52 Superman comic and also Henry Cavill did a great job playing Superman but the fight scene is a little boring and too much destruction in the city that makes Superman not really a noble hero at all to fight in a populated area.

My Rating: 1.5 / 5

.: Peace Out :.
