My Experience at PJ's Biggest Songkran Sky Festival at Stratosphere

Last Saturday on April 16th, I was at Stratosphere @ The Roof for the Songkran Festival 2017. Songkran is a Thai New Year's festival, whereby the people in Thailand performs water pouring on Buddha statues is considered an iconic ritual during the festival. I did experience the actual Songkran 2 years ago in Chiang Mai, it was really happening and I had a great time there.

Now we don't need to be at Thailand to experience it since Stratosphere has organized it right at the heart of Petaling Jaya. The event started at 3pm until 1am featuring live performance by Calvin Clarke, Mr.Deadwood, DJ Jenni-F, DJ LadyAnna, DJ NARO and many more.

I arrived at the venue around 6.40pm and I was just in time to catch the beautiful sunset at Stratosphere.

I was greeted by the friendly staff, gave me my entry tag and a small water gun.

It was my first time going up to the roof top bar although I have been to Signature, Score and Play many times before that.

A picture of le gf and myself before getting drenched with water.

I really admire the sunset view and also the landscape of Petaling Jaya, a city where I lived in for 6 years now. Probably one of the sunset I have ever seen in PJ.

There's a bunch of friendly bloggers and friends who attended the event as well. It's definitely better to have some familiar faces around. The more the merrier! :D

We were treated with a few bottles of vodka which is one of my favorite liquor and a couple of skewers later on that evening.

Throughout the evening, electronic dance music was played by the DJs and it kept the crowd's heart pumping following the beat.

When you attend a Songkran event, be prepared to get wet. There's no way you can stay dry at all.

The best part, you get to shoot random strangers too. I wish my water gun was bigger. Haha!

DJ area was strategically placed and protected from the water fight.

As the sky turned dark, the entire place was lit up and the party got more and more happening with more water fight and people dancing to the beat. Overall, the event and crowd was fun while the music was pretty good too. Hopefully, they will organize this again next year.
