What is Chinese New Year without watching all the heartwarming and humorous video ads? I have seen some of the videos since beginning of this year and I am pretty impressed with all the effort on creating a great storyline coupled with awesome cinematography. Below are some of the CNY ads which I personally enjoy watching:-
The first one is a funny CNY video by JinnyboyTV for Sunway Pyramid by combining a short skit with musical. In their description, he mentioned "Its that time of the year again where we prepare for Chinese New Year by shopping non stop preparing for the festive season!"
Second one is a CNY video about 5 sekawan or five good friends by Celcom. A strong bond between the five girls who stayed together since young. Love is our birthright. Acceptance is our heritage. They also had a different version of this 5 sekawan for Hari Malaysia and Deepavali too.
Next up is the CNY ad by VirtigoStudio for 1 Mont Kiara, CITTA Mall, Klang Parade and Ipoh Parade. It's a a short film chronicling the familiar struggles many hardworking executives have to endure when the festive season draws near. While it is usually good to impress, sometimes simplicity remains the best. I like the dancing Choi San Yeh a.k.a The God Of Prosperity at the playground! :D
The late Yasmin Ahmad who was famous for film directing and also her legacy of creating ads for Petronas. Since her passing, there's hardly a good ad done by Petronas but this new one is actually quite heartbreaking in the beginning but has a heartwarming ending. Love and memories take us home. For those who are living far apart from their parents, longing to go home for reunion dinner.
Last but not least, one of the CNY video ads which managed to gain the most views on Youtube this year. An ad by Traveloka about a single mother who works as a taxi driver, tried her very best to entertain her only son by giving him the best experience from different country inside her very taxi. I think this ad is very cute and the moment where her son finally grew up and gave her mum the same experience is very touching.
