Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory Malaysia at Pavilion KL (Food Review)

I've had a lot of Korean fried chicken from different restaurants in KL. To pair it with a cold beer on an evening is definitely one of the best "chimaek" experience that I could ask for. So last month I was able to check out some of the new chicken dishes in Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory Malaysia. Located in Pavilion Elite which is part of Pavilion KL, Chir Chir is a casual restaurant chain that specialises in freshly-cooked chicken dishes. It is one of the largest chimaek franchises in South Korea with over 100 outlets across the country, China and Taiwan.

Before I proceed into the food descriptions, all these dishes I tried are not the usual ones that you've seen or eaten at those common Korean fried chicken joints. Without further ado, let's check out some of the new dishes that they are offering.

Curry Fried Chicken (RM30.90)

This dish is influenced by the local palates, Chir Chir's Curry Fried Chicken coats fresh chicken with their signature batter, deep-fried till crispy and golden-brown and showered in their very own addictive curry seasoning, exuding flavours of fragrant curry leaves and sliced almonds.

I personally enjoyed this dish a lot. It has a good amount of curry seasoning and the fried chicken was so crispy and tender. I don't find the seasoning too salty for my liking and I would definitely order this again next time.

The Rose Cheese Chiqueen (RM33.90)

The Rose Cheese Chiqueen is a dish with crispy fried chicken tenders in a rosy, creamy mix of mozzarella and fondue cheese, topped with chunky potato wedges and cherry tomatoes.

The staff gracefully poured the cheese fondue onto The Rose Cheese Chiqueen.

If you love cheese, I mean love and not just like cheese then this is the dish for you. All those chicken tenders soaked into the cheese gave me one of the best chicken and cheese I have ever tasted. This may sound cheesy but this dish is chicken licking good. Easily one of my top three dishes in Chir Chir.

The Spicy Chi-Bap (RM33.90)

The Spicy Chi-Bap is consist of juicy fried chicken tenders in a spicy marinade of onion salsa, BBQ sauce and sweet potato topped with crispy fries and grated cheese, served on a bed of fragrant seaweed-flavoured rice.

If you prefer something with a lot of carbs, then this is for you. The massive amount of carbs from the sweet potato, fries and rice are the ideal diet if you are on a carb loading diet. The taste from the chicken is a little too sweet but can easily be balanced off by mixing it with the rice.

Nest Snow (RM34.90)

Nest Snow is a bed of juicy cajun chicken tenders laid in rich cream sauce and sweet potato mash, topped with freshly whipped cream and grated cheese. It creates a melt in the mouth sensation.

This dish is not as cheesy as The Rose Cheese Chiqueen but it has a very unique flavor from the mixtures of all the ingredients. The taste is not as strong too in comparison with the other dishes but still good and the chicken was still quite tender despite being drenched in the cream sauce.

Honey Butter Chicken (RM24.90)

A highly addictive dish which I agree with crispy boneless fried chicken chucks with potato wedges and rice cakes, tossed with honey butter sauce and seasoning.

I would like to order just the rice cakes alone as a side dish or appetizer because it was so good. Chicken wise, it can be slightly sweet but it can easily be balanced off with the dipping sauce. Right at this moment I am still thinking about the rice cake. I have never craved for rice cake so much until I ate this dish.

Grapefruit Yogurt (RM14.90/glass or RM30.90/jar)

Next up we had two different drinks. The first one is the Grapefruit Yogurt which is an ice-blend mix of grapefruit yogurt, grapefruit and mint leaves. It has a combination of sweet and bitter taste but the bitterness was a stronger. The grapefruit is high with vitamin C and other nutrients so if you seldom eat fruits, you should order this drink.

Pineapple Smoothie (RM14.90/glass or RM30.90/jar)

The Pineapple Smoothie is an ice-blend tropical mix of pineapple puree, coconut, strawberry, banana and mint leaves. This drink is sweet and rich with fruity flavor. Kids would definitely like this and I, myself too enjoy this drink a lot. Two to three person can share a jar of this drink.

Some interesting interior shots I took in Chir Chir.

The seatings are comfortable with good lighting and the staff were quite friendly.

Overall, I have tasted some of the interesting fried chicken dishes in Chir Chir. I recommend to my readers to try out some of their new dishes with family and friends. Sharing dishes is a good idea since the portion is quite adequate but eating there by yourself is okay too with their affordable combo menu. Currently this is their one and only outlet in Malaysia, hopefully there will be more to come in the near future.
