New Menu at The Roulette Restaurant Bar In Conjunction of The U.S Potatoes Culinary Festival 2018

Starting from now until the 31st of July, there will be a total of 14 participating restaurants in Klang Valley which serve up a variety of menu created exclusively by chef with U.S. potatoes. I was at The Roulette Restaurant Bar located in Oasis Square Ara Damansara to sample the two menu dishes created for this special occasion.

Some of you may be thinking that potatoes are fattening and full of carbohydrate but it's not entirely true. I have wrote an article about how potato can help us to keep a balanced diet and give us strength at the same time. You can read about it here. It's actually filled with fibre and helps to lose water retention in our body.

Lets get back about The U.S Potatoes Culinary Festival 2018. The Roulette Restaurant Bar is offering two new dishes in conjunction of the festival and it's only for a limited time! To be part of this, the participating restaurants will use U.S. Fresh & U.S. Frozen potatoes as the main ingredients.

The two dishes are the U.S. Lattice Cut with Bolognese Sauce and the Roulette Crispy Potato Snack Plate. Both of these dishes are priced at RM18++.

First, I would like to talk about the U.S. Lattice Cut with Bolognese Sauce. The U.S. Lattice Cut somehow reminds me of waffle or a puffed up version of potato chips. Don't be fooled by its look, the U.S. Lattice Cut was actually quite crispy and goes very well with the freshly diced tomatoes, cucumbers and bolognese sauce for dipping. The dipping sauce consists of diced chicken meat which was quite tender and the overall taste did not overpower the potatoes.

Next up, it's the Roulette Crispy Potato Snack Plate. I would say this was my favorite dish on that evening. I was surprised to taste the salted egg on the crispy potato and immediately I can't stop myself from having more and more of it. Usually I will eat dishes like salted egg chicken wings, prawn or cuttlefish but hands down this is one my favorite potato dish I had since the longest time. The deep fried rings next to it was equally good too. Don't believe my words? Go try it for yourself!

The organizer of the festival has also came up with a Most Creative Photo Contest and you can win yourself a grand prize of an Apple iPad 9.7 inch! Don't you want one? Well, at least I do!

If you are nearby Ara Damansara, you can consider dropping by at The Roulette Restaurant Bar in Oasis Square to try out the dishes. The view there is pretty good too and you can dine by the pool.

Why we should choose U.S. potatoes? Some of the reasons are the ideal growing temperatures, rich soil condition, state-of-the-art processing facilities and generations of expertise, U.S. potatoes contain high “solids” and low sugar content, more desirable in appearance, taste and texture. The U.S. industry standards are demanding and must meet all Food and Drug Administration and USDA specifications.

    1. Icic... you can try US Potatoes... they are higher in fibre and lower in sugar content. Whatever it is... it's not the potato that makes one fat! HAHA
