5 Tips on How to Save More Money When You Shop Online

Everybody loves shopping, especially when it comes to online shopping. It's fast and easy but frankly speaking, it can be really addictive too. With the wide range of products which are currently offered in the market right now, we tend to go shopping frenzy until it became too extravagant. So here are five simple tips to help you save money the next time you plan to shop online.

1. DO PRICE COMPARISON

At this period of time, there are so many online shopping websites in Malaysia such as Lazada, Shopee, 11th Street, ezbuy, Lelong, eBay or even Carousell. Not every price in all those websites is the same. It's really up to you to survey each and every site in order to get the best deal. Also, it helps if the seller is local and has the product in hand. Sometimes oversea sellers can be quite troublesome and can take a really long time to receive the product.

2.  FREE POSTAGE VS PAID POSTAGE

The first thing that always came to my mind when doing the price survey is the postage or delivery fee. Sometimes to get them to send over a small package can be quite costly ranging from RM8 to RM15. If the product is cheap but after adding the postage fee, it could be even more expensive than those who are offering free postage for the same product. If there's a minimum purchase value required which is probably around RM35 to RM50, by adding another unit of the same product is actually a lot safer. Who knows the first product that we purchased can be defective upon receiving and we urgently need to use it. Having a second unit is like a insurance unless it's defective as well then we can definitely blame the seller. Hahaha...

3. BUY MULTIPLE PRODUCTS FROM THE SAME SELLER

I personally prefer buying a couple of products from the same seller to save on the delivery fee and at the same time, I will be dealing with only one seller instead of having to deal with multiple sellers. Say I need to buy phone accessories, I would also check out the seller's entire product list to see if he or she has the other products that I am looking for. It also saves me time from going through all the feedback or reviews on all the sellers. Remember to always check on the review before purchasing any item. Sometimes when the deal is too good to be true, usually the reviews can be the judge of it.

4. GET LATEST COUPONS, DISCOUNTS AND VOUCHER CODES.

From time to time, these online stores will offer some coupons, discounts or voucher codes to attract shoppers. The problem is how do we keep track of all these coupons, discounts and voucher codes with the number of online stores out there? I am currently using ShopCoupons that features the latest coupons, discounts, and voucher codes in Malaysia to help users save while shopping online.

Anyone tried Shopee before? So let's take Shopee as an example. Kindly refer to the images below.

If you log into Shopee, you will find the sliding banner with a different type of brands, products, and discounts which they are currently offering. It will take us a few minutes to actually go through all of them, click here and there to finally reach the one that we are looking for. With ShopCoupons, all the codes are listed on a single page and we just need to scroll down to find it. It also indicates the expiry date of every code and we get to save the codes that we want so that we don't need to look for it again the next time. Another thing is that ShopCoupons website is ads free. No more annoying irrelevant pop-up ads that make my life so much easier.

At the moment, you can find the 10% off Shopee promo code to purchase Khind home appliances. Time to get a brand new air purifier? I heard the haze is coming...

5. ONLY BUY WHEN IT'S NECESSARY

Last but not least, this is not really a tip but more like a piece of advice. Sometimes we just buy the products either it's really cheap or on sale and the joy of receiving packages every day can be quite thrillful. Unfortunately, that also means that we will be adding more junk into our home instead of replacing the broken with new. Always ask yourself if you really need the product over and over again. Maybe give yourself about an hour to think about it and if you still want to get it then by all means, just buy within your limit. After all, why work so hard to earn money if you can't spend it?

I hope these tips will help you save more money when you shop online next time. Till then...
HAPPY ONLINE SHOPPING! :)
