Facekara @ Viva Home

It has been quite a while since I last visited Viva Home Centre. The last time when I was there is just to chill out with my friends in a cafe. I have not noticed that they have a karaoke center in that mall as well as the currently operating MBO cinema. Facekara, is a local karaoke centre and also the first recording karaoke in Malaysia. Holding on to the tagline, "Broadcast You to the World" has certainly made an impression that they have something unique that other karaoke centres are yet to have.

Operation started since July 2011, Facekara objective is to create a fun, safe, comfortable and healthy gathering space to everyone from all walks of life. As I walked into the karaoke centre, I felt that the place is pretty much dedicated to family and group of people who wanted to have some good entertainments. It would be better if the staff there could have at least smile when customer approach them.

The payment & inquiry counter.

While waiting for other friends to join in, you can always check out the promotion which they are currently offering at the computers provided at the left corner of the centre.

The main function room take can take up to 100 pax has already hosted a few international acts and even some of our local minister has conducted some events in this place.

The VVIP room that can easily fit up to 20 pax and is best to cater events such as birthday party, gathering etc. Equipped with high quality sound system and projector for larger visual.

This is the VIP room that can fit up to 15pax and this particular room is actually quite interesting because there's a window where you can see what's happening outside of the mall.

The flat screen TV and the touch panel on the left hand side. There's also a remote control for customer to operate the system from their own seat.

Ryan trying to figure out how the touch panel works.

For a first timer, it might be a bit confusing but after getting used to it, it's actually quite easy to use. Not only you can select songs to sing but you can also call their staff provided you know their staff ID and even order food and beverages directly from the touch panel. How interesting!

There was 10 of us so we occupied one of the VIP room and we were given 4 microphones. Without wasting any of our precious time (since we are given 3 hours to sing), we quickly grabbed our mic and start singing our heart out!

Can you guess what song we were singing? Hint: A cheap accommodation place!

It's too comfy.... Iris can just fall asleep immediately beside Tony in this cozy VIP room.

Qian Qian and Yeeing! Funny ape face is back! Haha

Kelvin, master of the oldies!

Myself with fei tut tut! :P

Some drinks and tidbits to accompany us through out the karaoke session.

They offer alcoholic beverages as well from Tiger, Carlsberg, Guiness, Kampai, etc.

Although they sell alcohol but they do not serve any pork.

Teriyaki Chicken Rice. I heard this was quite good. You can get this for RM9.90 (K-lunch) or RM14.90 (K-dinner) inclusive of 1 drink and unlimited FREE singing hours.

Besides that, they also serve various type of food from Chinese to Western cuisine.

Conclusion: They are still lack of some songs in the list but at least better than some of the karaoke centre which I had been. Not all the songs shows the music video without lyrics. Environment wise, it is pretty cozy but maybe they can improve on the sound proofing. I would recommend them to include new microphone covers for every session which they currently did not provide any. As for the food, taste is quite similar as the one I can have at those normal restaurant out there and not as crappy as I thought it would be as my experience of my dining in a karaoke centre has always been unsatisfying.
