Sabah has became the first state to kick-off the Project Hope of World Marketing Summit Malaysia 2013 with AirAsia where 40 orphans flown from Tambunan, Sabah to Kuala Lumpur. I was very fortunate to be invited to witness this launch at Kompleks Kraftangan on the 11th of June 2013. Activities lined-up for all the 100 children from orphanages around Malaysia through out the three days include football clinic, dinner, singing, a visit to Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya helath check at Colombia Asia Hospital.

“It is heartening to have on board key corporations as sponsors and strategic partners as well as the participation of local and international media players. We hope the list grows and welcome more corporations keen to participate in this social purpose driven initiative,” she added.
An extension of Project Hope, 8 BILLION, was also launched at the event. 8 BILLION will address MDGs 1 and 2 on a global scale over the next two years, in a drive to increase reach and sustainability of Malaysia efforts.
Donne Ray of the Platters performed three English songs to entertain the guest and children.
Mr. Bean impersonator appeared during Donne Ray's performance and took photos with some of the children. They were so happy and that put a smile on everyone's face.
Captain Wee from AirAsia, briefly explained to the children about having a good education and strong determination if they want to earn high salary becoming a pilot or even a flight attendant in future.

A selection of 100 art pieces by the children will be auctioned to participants of WMS Malaysia on 28-30 September 2013, with all proceeds channeled back to the children's homes. Additionally, the three children with the highest bids on their art pieces will receive a fixed deposit in their names which will be made available to them when they reach 18 years old. The winner will receive RM5,000, runner-up RM2,000 and second runner-up RM1,000. WMSM2013 will continue to check on these children, following up on their development as they grow on their journeys.
I am looking forward for more of these initiatives to help our Malaysian orphanages to be taken care of and at the same time having the same education as any other Malaysian children will have.
