Sector-Focused Career Fair on Career Opportunities in Shared Services and Outsourcing in UiTM Shah Alam
Last week, I have posted about the Sector-Focused Career Fair (SFCF) on my Facebook page, which is held at UiTM Shah Alam. This event is hosted by Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad in conjunction with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as a strategic thrust to optimize Malaysian talents, as well to enhance awareness of career opportunities among the public, namely, in priority sectors under the 11 National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs).
This two-day event was officially opened by YB Senator Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid bin Omar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department. The focus areas for this fair as mentioned on the title above are Shared Services and Outsourcing (SSO).
This career fair is a joint effort between TalentCorp, Graduan, MDeC and UiTM which is also supported by more than 30 other companies as below: -

Symphony BPO Solutions

Bean bags section for the students and guest to relax or to discuss further with the representatives from the company in a more relaxed atmosphere.
MDeC’s booth.
CPA & ACCA for graduates who’s interested with accounting.
The SFCF provides an opportunity for graduates to meet with CEOs and senior HR representatives of participating companies, while providing a platform for companies to scout for potential talent from universities in Malaysia.
Several critical industries are in need of top talent, and the undergraduates are able to use this opportunity to better understand these developing sectors in Malaysia. The companies also have the opportunity to educate public about industry developments, sectoral branding and increased understanding of the SSO sector.
Just take a look at the amount of the people who’s at this career fair.
At the same day, the Career Attack was also held for students to submit their resume and do a quick interview for the available jobs.
This booth caught my attention the most, it’s the Industry Career Quiz (ICQ) area for students and guest to take part in answering quiz regarding Malaysia’s Shared Servies and Outsourcing (SSO).
There are plenty of iPad displayed at the booth for the ease of taking part to answer the quiz.
Prizes are quite attractive! You can win iPad and TGV movie tickets :D
Here’s some of the top scores who participated in ICQ.
The two-day schedule of the SCFC UiTM 2013
This career fair included Career Talks and Couch Corner Slot. Career Talks is a platform developed for the young generation to engage with prominent industry leader while the Couch Corner Slot was designed for visitors, especially students, to interact with the companies in a relaxed atmosphere.
