Big Boy Special in celebration of Father's Day @ La Casa, Mont' Kiara

Last month, I was invited for the food tasting session at La Casa for the Big Boy Special in celebration of Father's Day. Stepping into La Casa for the very first time, it gives me a sense of cosiness and a friendly environment. They serve Italian and Western cuisines as well as offering handmade pastry, cakes, cookies and coffee as well.

Located at Verve Shops Mont' Kiara, La Casa is a cosy, warm and comfortable venue to dine in.
Even on a weekday evening, La Casa is filled with hungry diners and for some who just want to hang out with a couple of drinks.

I like the vintage interior and deco in La Casa that adds the aesthetic value overall.

La Casa offers a variety of sweet and handmade delicacies like cakes, cookies and macarons.

Those cakes looks tempting to me!

Some food preparation action in the kitchen
Enough with the introduction, time to introduce the food. For your info, the La Casa's Big Boy Special is available for a limited time only from June 13th to June 24th, from 6pm onwards for RM68.

This is the La Casa's best, from barbecue chicken wings, turkey chorizo with Brie or smoked duck to lighter flavours such as fresh tomato confit, soft roasted capsicum or tuna with smoked olive and more.

Accompanied by a light rocket salad, crispy bread, and an orange, lime and mint soda. I absolutely enjoyed the tenderness of the barbecue chicken wing. The sauce was just right for me, not too sweet. The sausage was delicious with a pleasant amount of pepper-ness. The orange, lime and mint soda was pretty refreshing too.

All menu will be available as per usual except Father's Day '19th June' Dinner time will be serving only Father's Day special menu. Here's some of the main dishes we had that evening...

Teriyaki salmon with spinach (RM42) consist of pan-seared Norwegian salmon on bed of spinach and garlic pasta, drizzled with teriyaki sauce. The salmon with teriyaki sauce was delicious but do be careful of the fish bones. Garlic pasta was one of the best I have ever tasted.

Duck confit (RM42), pan-fried to crispy and golden brown served with sautéed potatoes, apple and orange salad. The duck meat was tasty but somehow it's felt dry. Weirdly, I like the apple and orange salad more than the duck itself.

Slow braised lamb with gnocchi (RM42) slow braised lamb shoulder with spring vegetables served with pan-fried homemade gnocchi. The lamb is tender and well marinated in the sauce while the gnocchi was good but it was slightly oily. I find this to be perfect to eat with rice though. Haha...

Alla carbonara (RM26) consisting of turkey bacon, mushroom, cream and parmesan. This is one of my favorite as the sauce wasn't too creamy for my liking.

Next up, it's the Baked Fish Papillote (RM48).

The steam oozes out when the paper wrapping was opened revealing the seasonal fish fillet, assorted seafood, white wine baked sine seafood tomato broth. The baked fish taste was slightly fishy to me and the flavor from the broth was not too distinct enough.

This is mango ice-cream (left) and cheese ice-cream (right). I had the cheese one and it was sweet and creamy with the cheese taste at the right spot. I heard the mango ice-cream was good too.

Ending the session with a cup of flat white (RM11). I'm not really a coffee enthusiast but I do like this cup of flat white.
