Mont Kiara – Better Living in the Heart of Klang Valley

"Convenience, connectivity and comfort", that's what Mont Kiara is all about.

The first thing that came into my mind when I hear the word convenience, is being able to shop near to the place I am staying. Not just that, eatery places are as important too. I would prefer a mixture of food court, coffee shops, cafes and restaurants which offer great variety of food to eat.

So one fine day, I was at 1 Mont Kiara to meet my friend and we decided to have lunch at The BAR°N. The BAR°N is a cozy, chic destination for scrumptious food, and they claimed to have the finest selection of old and new world wines from all over the world. What attracted me the most on that day was their affordable lunch set which comes together with salad and soup of the day.

There's also a promotional price of RM13 for Tiger Beer and House Pour Wine. I went for the cabernet sauvignon red wine while my friend ordered a glass of chardonnay. As for the main, we got the Poppy Seed Fish & Chips (RM26) and Coffee Pork Ribs (RM30).

The Poppy Seed Fish & Chips came in a big portion with generous amount of green peas and fries. While the Coffee Pork Ribs are tender, unique with hint of coffee taste but it did not overpower the original flavor of the pork ribs. After a scrumptious lunch, we decided to continue our chat over coffee at Coffee Club which is also located in 1 Mont Kiara.

Iced Caffe Mocha Blend @ Coffee Club

I ordered the Iced Caffe Mocha Blend (RM15) since I enjoy having mocha if I don't feel like having my usual green tea latte. This drink wasn't sweet which I like but I can still taste both the coffee and chocolate flavor at the same time.

Other than coffee, they also offer cakes and pastries for those who want to indulge themselves into some desserts while having their coffee.

Next to the Coffee Club bar counter, there's a section where customers can grab some bites at their Grab & Go section. I find this super convenience for those who are in a rush at during working days.

Teriyaki salmon with spinach @ La Casa.

A few minutes away from 1 Mont Kiara, I got a good recommendation place for dinner especially their pasta dishes. There's also plenty of food variety that may cater your taste bud. The place is called La Casa and it's located at Verve Shops Mont' Kiara.

Cucumber Spritz @ The Eight Avenue, Publika

If the night are still young for some of you folks, there's a place in Publika which serves wide selections of gin cocktails. The Eight Avenue is a gastro-pub, they specialised in good quality food inspired from different countries. I strongly recommend you to try their awesome Chicken Pot Pie and Mission Chilli A-Con-Plished pork pizza.

As for connectivity, there is a RapidKL Bus U7 services between Medan Pasar and Segambut Dalam (Sri Hatamas) which stops at Segambut KTM Komuter station. For those who prefer to take MRT, you can grab a MRT Feeder Bus from Desa Sri Hartamas to Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT station or from Publika to Semantan MRT station. All the fare for the MRT feeder bus services is only RM1.00 per trip!

In the vicinity of Mont Kiara, there's plenty of schools such as Smk Seri Hartamas, Kiaramas Primary and Secondary School, Mont Kiara International School, Garden International School Kuala Lumpur and many more. For those who are more health-cautious, there's the Global Doctors Specialist Centre, KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital and University Malaya Medical Centre which is about 15 minutes drive away.
