Anchor Food Professionals Launches Moodmojee Beverages to Boost Your Mood

On the 10th of November, I journeyed to Port Klang and Semenyih on the same day in search for the new Moodmojee beverages created by Anchor Food Professionals. With the success of its previous campaigns such as Say Cheese, PizzArt and Anchor Travel Cakes, Anchor Food Professionals has return to debut six new dairy beverages to boost your mood. These beverages were conceptualized and created by Anchor Food Professionals chefs to showcase the delicious possibilities of dairy in beverages, bringing a sip of global trends to Malaysian consumers.

Pom & Grey Twith and Tangy Brew are the two of six beverages offered in the Moodmojee campaign

Designed as mood boosters, the range of beverages brings unexpected pairings aimed to delight taste buds. This year’s range promises pairings of zesty, sweet, savoury and salty flavours with creamy and smooth textures. Think of yuzu, pomegranate, mint, chocolate as some of the ingredients that will be paired and brought to life using the natural and fresh goodness of Anchor’s dairy.

These six dairy thirst-quenchers include a Malaysian favourite that’s both whimsy and decadent – Kayanika Fusion – layers of sweet and creamy with traditional ‘kaya’, ‘gula melaka’, ‘pulut’ and red beans. I got to try four out of six of the beverages and you gotta read until the rest of this post to find out where you can find all of them.

Tangy Brew (RM6.50)

The first stop that we went to was Choon Guan Coffee Shop in Port Klang. Although I always travel to this part of Klang lately but I have not been to this coffee shop before and I was quite happy to be able to find a new breakfast place. The two beverages which are being offered there are the Tangy Brew and Pom & Grey Twist. I was quite surprised that a humble coffee is able to feature these two beverages which are made from Anchor Food Professionals's products.

Pom & Grey Twist (RM6.50)

Here's something for the coffee lover, the Tangy Brew is rich cold brew coffee mixed with the tangy freshness of orange which explodes in your mouth followed by its satisfying mixture of cream and cheese foam. For something more refreshing, the Pom & Grey Twist, a flavoured cheese tea is a refreshing concoction of mood-boosting Early Grey tea mixed with pomegranate syrup, topped with a generous layer of chocolate cream. I enjoyed both of the beverages especially the Pom & Grey Twist which has a nice balance of sweetness and goes very well with the earl grey tea. It's also worth to mention that the price of each beverage is only RM6.50. Pretty affordable eh!

Since it's still in the morning, we get to try out some of the recommended breakfast dishes such as the kaya and butter Hainan toast, half boiled eggs, custard pudding, Hainan wholemeal toast and many more.

Their Hainan chicken rice ball was also pretty good. The chicken was succulent and goes very well with the fragrant rice balls. Just looking at the picture right now makes me crave for it!

The Hainan coffee in Choon Guan Coffee Shop is to die for. The coffee beans are roasted by themselves and the coffee taste was really aromatic and rich. It definitely will give you a good kick to wake you up in the morning! For those who are interested to check them out, I've put in the details below.

Yuzu Chocolate Surprise and White Chocoffee

Our next destination was Gafe Cafe in Semenyih. After about an hour plus journey, we finally reached our destination. Gafe Cafe is a cafe where they serve a wide variety of cuisine dishes from Western to Asian. First, let's talk about the two beverages that are being offered in Gafe. For all the chocolate lovers, a drink to tingle the taste buds with the unlikely pairing of Yuzu and chocolate. The tangy Yuzu puree tempers the rich chocolate in the Yuzu Chocolate Surprise (RM7) which is rimmed with salt lemon cooling candy. I personally think this is an unique creation and can be enjoyed by every age group.

First we drink this White Chocoffee! Haha...

The second beverage is the White Chocoffee (RM8.90) which stands tall and proud like a shake with a crown of whipped cream. This sure-winner is a dreamy blend of white coffee mixed generously with delicious chocolate and peanut butter. If you are craving for something sweet and has coffee in it, I will recommend you to try this. The combination of the white coffee, chocolate and peanut butter go incredibly well. Just a friendly reminder here, this drink does contain nut in case you are allergic and do not fully understand the word 'peanut butter'.

Since we are having some great beverages, what about pairing it with some food? For those healthy eaters, you can opt for their salad such as the caesar salad and chicken salad (shredded chicken) with olive oil.

For mains, there's the seafood aglio olio and variety of rice bowls.

The food was decent and the portion was quite adequate. The food price is affordable and I would drop by at this place again if I am heading to Semenyih.

Also worth mentioning is their blueberry cheesecake and oreo cheesecake. So yummy and not too overly sweet for my liking.

At the end of the trip, I went home with a full tummy and a big smile on my face. For those who are interested to try out the two Moodmojee beverages as well as their food in Gafe, more details as mentioned below.

  1. I love those old school coffee shop blue and white cups but I think long ago, they used to be thicker.
