Stay Connected Like You're at Home with Yoodo's Roam Like Home

Not long ago, I was invited for a Yoodo blogger briefing session to introduce about their international roaming plan. For those who may not be familiar with Yoodo, here's some quick details about it. Yoodo is an independent digital mobile service that is owned and operated by Celcom Axiata Berhad launched in January 2018. It offers the country’s first truly customisable mobile service, with complete transparency, flexibility and customer convenience.

At the briefing, we were informed that Yoodo is once again empowering its users with greater customisation. With Yoodo, users have freedom of choice and flexibility with its unique Roam Like Home international roaming plan. Roam Like Home allows users to enjoy their customised local Yoodo plans when travelling abroad.

Roam Like Home is available in 53 countries at a flat rate ranging from RM 10 to RM 20 for full 24-hour period. Users are also able to purchase booster packs within their Roam Like Home plan, which allows users to top up quota for data, voice or SMS instead of repurchasing the entire roaming plan.

Commenting about the plan, Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo shared, “Since we first launched, Yoodo has always been about giving consumers freedom of choice, with the ability of customising their Yoodo plans according to their needs. Yoodo not only understand consumers needs but also believes in empowering users to customise their plans to suit their interests and lifestyles which applies to Yoodo’s roaming product.

“Our Roam Like Home plan offers this flexibility to users whilst also providing great value for money. As a frequent traveller myself, I understand the challenges travellers face when it comes to staying connected abroad. I believe Roam Like Home is the perfect solution for travellers, where users are allowed to focus on enjoying their travelling instead of worrying about exhausting their quota and spending too much on roaming,” he added.

Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo giving a brief about how the Roam Like Home international roaming plan works

There's a few simple steps to become a Yoodo user, customers would first have to order a free SIM via the Yoodo app or web and then proceed to choose to have the SIM delivered for free within 1 to 3 days.

After the activation and authentication process, users will be able to customise their plans according to their needs. Then, with their customized plan, users can activate the Roam Like Home plan through the Yoodo app by purchasing a daily roaming pass for RM10 or RM20.

In order to purchase the daily roaming pass, all you have to do is select “Add Roaming/IDD”, select “Roaming” and select the country the user will be travelling to. Following that, user will have to tap “Buy” and confirm order. The roaming will be activated automatically once the user starts using their data, voice or SMS overseas.

Yoodo users will also stand a chance to win a Samsonite ARQ luggage worth RM1,129 when you participate in the “I Love Roam Like Home” contest. All you have to do is to spend a minimum of RM30 on the Roam Like Home plan between 25th May and 31st July. So don't wait any longer if you want to bring home a Samsonite ARQ luggage bag!

We get to participate in this life size Yoodo Roam Like Home monopoly set and it was really fun!

It was funny but exciting at the same time to play with this huge monopoly and we use our own body as the token and we tossed a huge dice to go around it! :)

If you are interested to try out the plan and wish to obtain a sim card from Yoodo, you can use my unique referral code: "sqhun0327" for you to receive RM20 into your Yoodo Wallet.

.: Peace Out :.

  1. Not a bad deal at all for those roaming prices, better than RM 38 for sure.

    1. That's right! I am planning to go Vietnam next month and it's only RM20 a day... the other telco is RM36 or RM38! Very expensive!

  2. Let me know your experience with Yoodo soon!

    1. So far so good.... awesome 4G connection even at my home compare to telco D and U! :P

  3. Yoohoo!! This Yoodo is definitely worth considering. I always had to buy local SIM cards at the foreign airports instead which was not cheap always.

    1. Local sim cards are far better IMO but some phone doesn't have dual sim feature will be a bit troublesome. For short stay like 1-2 days, I think this Yoodo roaming plan is the best in the market right now.

  4. Not available here, of course. We are always left out of everything!

    1. Not available? They are using Celcom line and last I check Sibu has a good 10-50mbps of 4G connection :)
