Sobeit's North Indian & Western Cuisine @ Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur (Food Review)

Last weekend, I was invited to review a restaurant called Sobeit located in Jalan Ampang. It has been a while since I did a food review in a restaurant and dine in is now opened without seats limitation but always keep in mind that we always need to keep our social distancing in check and follow all the SOP.


Sobeit which has opened their door last year, offering a wide variety of dishes from North Indian and Western cuisine. Let's jump straight to what they have to offer in Sobeit.


We start with the North Indian cuisine and here we have the Dum Lucknawi Briyani. The briyani was really flavourful and the basmati rice was nicely cooked. All the elements of flavour from the ingredients go very well and every single bite brings delight to my tastebud.


Next we have the Butter Chicken. The protein was really tender and soft with the thick and rich creamy curry sauce. It is not too spicy for me and the level of saltiness was just nice. Definitely a good comfort food for me any day.


Now you are looking at the Mutton Chukka Varuval and this is definitely my favorite dish here in Sobeit. This dish reminded me of a darker version of beef rendang but this mutton chukka varuval was tender and juicy with a good amount of fat ratio to meat. I would order this again on my next visit.


Then we have the Southern Style Homemade Fish Curry. The fish goes very well in the curry. I still can taste the fish meat well despite having the strong curry taste but it did not taste fishy at all. For those who are craving for a good fish meat, I would recommend this.


As for the last North Indian dish, we had the Tandoori Chicken and it is well marinated and go very well together with the briyani.


Next up, it's the Western cuisine and let's start off with some pizzas. We had the Tex Mex Pizza and Pear Gorgonzola Cheese Pizza


Both pizzas were good but I really enjoyed the Pear Gorgonzola Cheese Pizza because of the unique sweet and salty flavour from the caramelized pear slices combine with the saltiness from the cheese.


What is Western cuisine with having burger in the menu? Yes, they do have burger too and it is called Big Daddy Beef Burger. Very huge portion of burger with the fries on the side. 


The burger comes with two decently sized beef patty, cheese, a sunny side up egg, lettuce, tomato and onion. On the side, there's the mayo, chilli sauce and pickled cucumber.


The Lloyd French Rack of Lamb was perfectly cooked and go very well with the mint sauce. I didn't even add in the brown sauce and the lamb taste was good enough for me.


Last but not least, we had the Butter Flaky Beef Crust. It has a rich flaky yellowish pastry filled with seasoned ground beef. It comes with a generous amount of mashed potato, brown sauce and grilled vegetable.
