Soul Society Raises Over RM14,000 for Dignity for Children with Heart & Soul

Staying resilient amidst the difficulties faced by the restaurant industry as a whole, SOUL Society’s Group of Restaurants recently came together to spearhead a fundraising campaign for Dignity for Children which managed to raise RM14,560 in funds for the organisation. The NGO which has been operating since 1998, empowers underprivileged and marginalized children to break the cycle of poverty through quality education, positively transforming their lives and the lives of the community around them.

The SOUL Society Group of restaurants which include WIP, Tujo, Hubba, Goa and of course SOULed OUT outlets in the Klang Valley actively drove the Heart & SOUL fundraising initiative amid the vagaries of a pandemic inflicted year-end holiday season. As each outlet did their utmost to ensure the safety of their customers, the collective also allowed their guests multiple opportunities to do their part for the initiative via a host of creative Christmas offerings throughout the month of December.

A portion of the sale from each outlet’s best selling Christmas Platters, signature Mojitos and Holiday Gift Packs contributed greatly to the initiative, while many patrons showed their support by dropping donations in the Dignity for Children donation boxes that were set-up and through the purchase of wishing cards that were placed on the Tree of Hope at each outlet.

During the ceremonial handing over of a mock cheque to the organisation, Brian Choo, Chief Operating Officer of SOUL Society was quoted saying, “We are extremely delighted that we were able to raise these funds even during the pandemic. It is times like these that the most vulnerable need our help and it’s amazing to see what we can achieve when we come together, standing shoulder to shoulder, to make a difference. I want to thank all our wonderful patrons, our staff, advocates and partners that have contributed to the fund which will reach right into the heart of the communities that need it the most.”
