Christmas Returns at CITTA Mall with a Zest of Korean Flavours!

As we are entering the final month of 2021, the Christmas season is being felt by many of us now. Although this year has not been great for some of us due to the never-ending pandemic, but let's just be glad and grateful that we are now in the phase where we are not restricted to meet our loved ones. CITTA Mall being one of my favourite mall in PJ, is ready to jump back into the festive mood as shoppers are eager to end their retail famine. So if you are full vaccinated with 2 doses, perhaps you could take this opportunity to spend some time there with your family and friends.

According to Alan Thoo, Marketing Head for CITTA Mall, the team has carefully curated a slew of activities to reel in the Christmas spirit. “The return of events at the mall is approached with both excitement and caution, as various safety measures have to be set up in order to provide all shoppers the reassurance and peace of mind when they indulge in the festivities. For December, we’ll be throwing in our usual Christmas activities to jolt the year-end festive vibes before switching gears to the ever popular K-Street Carnival, which celebrates the best of all things Korean.”

If you are visiting CITTA Mall from 4 December onwards, Santa and Santarina will make their rounds to surprise shoppers at selected times, while Teddy and Polar Bear mascots are set to bring smiles on children’s faces on selected weekends. Shoppers who are fortunate enough to bump into Blanko the Living Statue on some weekends will also be able to add some colour to his life (quite literally!) by splashing paint on his unvarnished visage.

In addition to the character meets above, shoppers will be able to get their hands dirty by decorating cupcakes, baking gingerbread man cookies, and creating Christmas ornaments in a variety of workshops. Xmas station games will also litter the grounds at CITTA Mall from 12:00pm to 6:00pm on the weekends of 4 to 5 and 11 to 12 December, so sharpshooters and excellent pitchers should definitely drop by as they may walk away with prizes when they win at these game booths.

Things start to get a little culturally interesting from 14 December onwards, as shoppers will be transported to Korea at the mall’s K-Street Carnival. A Korean-themed bazaar will be available daily from 14 - 19 December, and those who have always wanted to dress up like a character in a Joseon-era K-Drama can do so with the hanboks available at the photo booth.

The weekend of 18 and 19 December will witness another electric comeback, as the mall readies its stage for not one, but two dance competitions: the CITTA Battle and K-Street Carnival K-Pop Dance Cover Competition.

“It’s great for a lot of kids to be able to put on their best kicks and moves back on the stage after a two-year-hiatus,” commented Alan. “The youths of this generation have been stripped of their ability to showcase the best of their abilities for too long, so we’re glad that we’re able to provide some form of an avenue once more for these active and talented dancers to reignite their dormant passions.”

In addition to the dance-offs, gourmets can look forward to the Korean Sausage Eating Challenge that will happen at 1:00pm on the weekend, just in time for lunch. On the other hand, fans of the sensational Korean television series “Squid Game” can practice flicking their wrists at a good ol’ game of Ddakji, without a handsome fellow in a suit slapping them should they fail, of course. Those who prefer a tamer sport can opt for the Tuho Challenge instead, where the goal is to throw as many arrows into a pot from a distance.

Not long ago, CITTA Mall welcomed a number of new outlets - they are Baskin-Robbins, GSC Cinemas, Ohsom Chai and Sofana Hearing Care. In conjunction with the festive season, here are some of the promotions and latest offerings that you can look forward to at CITTA Mall:-

A few blogger and I had a scrumptuos lunch at Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar, one of their 11th outlet in Klang Valley area.

They had just opened in CITTA Mall right before the first MCO last year. Offering a long list of Nasi Kandar dishes variety that you definitely will be craving after stuck at home for a long time.

Their signature dishes other than the nasi kandar is definitely their famous roti tissue and special to this outlet and the one in Chow Yang, SS2 is the robot servant that instantly became their major attraction especially to the children who are dinning with family. The ambience with indoor and outdoor seatings also made it one of the most comfortable outlet especially for those who didn't like the stuffiness of sitting inside a restaurant.

Just look at the huge fish head!! So far all their dishes have not disappoint me and the bill didn't come up to 1.8k since they don't have any 'live' fish fresh out of the aquarium. πŸ˜‰

After our lunch at Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar, we headed over to Firezone Family KTV to sing our hearts out. It's been a few years since I had the opportunity to sing karaoke thanks to the pandemic but hey, let's just enjoy responsibly and follow all the necessary SOP.

Check out some of the promotions offered by Firezone Family KTV:

● Purchase a 2-hour KTV session and get a free bottle of 1.5L Coca Cola (valid from Monday to Thursday)

● Enjoy 2 buckets of beers (i.e. Carlsberg, Royal Stout, SKOL) from as low as RM100.

After the karaoke session, you can also catch up on all your favourite movies that have been released. I have watched Venom, Eternals and No Time to Die. I plan to watch Anita next. What movie have you watched recently in GSC? If you're planning for your next movie outing, don't forget to grab their all-new popcorn recipe with imported 100% caramel. HELLO, I really couldn't stop eating it!

The cinema in CITTA Mall is also my top favourite one in Klang Valley, probably in the entire Malaysia for their children's theme with LEGO blocks, dreamy walk way and cute cinema hall interior.

After that, we dropped by at the newly opened Baskin-Robbins in CITTA Mall. Currently they are running some promotions too. You can check them out below.

● Baskin-Robbins’ mischievous Minions Collection is here to help you free the fun with every spoon of B-R goodness.

*Bellow Sundae: RM13.50

*Banana Boat: RM38.00

*Banana Shake: RM16.50

I got myself a pint with two flavours of my choice and this minion container is just too cute! :D

It's tea time! We headed over to Onde Onde to enjoy some all-time local favourites.

In Onde Onde, all their ingredients sourced from specialty towns throughout Malaysia. With some ingredients sourced from household suppliers whom only produce and supply exclusively to the establishment. For example, its ‘Gula Melaka’ are sourced from none other than Melaka. Another highlight ingredient is Onde Onde’s ground coffee which is sourced from a traditional family roaster in Ipoh. The end-product is a smooth, robust and fragrant coffee which is free from sharp acidity, palate-numbing bitterness and margarine residue.

We had the Sago gula Melaka, cendol gula Melaka, ABC, aromatic rojak buah, cucur sayur, belacan eggplant chips, keropok lekor and aneka kuih-muih. They are all perfect to go with coffee or tea but if I were to pick my favourite, it would be the belacan eggplant chips. It was my first time tasting it and I really enjoyed it. For those who love eggplant and doesn't mind the savoury taste from belacan, I strongly recommend that you should give it a try.

Time to burn all the calories that I have consumed so far. We went over to Peak Fitness to check out the facilities and some of the classes they have to offer. For those who might not know, Peak fitness is fully equipped, high service, award winning fitness clubs with over 50 group classes per week and scientifically proven fitness programmes and expert coaches.

As a person who actively work out in a gym before the pandemic, I think their gym equipments are quite extensive and should be adequate for someone who prefer to build a stronger core.

Here's their latest promotion: For new members, you can join for as low as RM89 per month only, joining fees (RM99) will be waived. Limited to the first 100 new sign ups. So grab them now before it runs out!

We attended the HIIT workout session together and was really pumped up for it!

Unfortunately, I almost "pancit" half way doing the HIIT workout as I have not been working out hard during the lockdown and I am really terrible in squats. Perhaps now is the best time to join Peak Fitness and train my body to be stronger again.

After almost dying from the workout, the best thing to do after that is to have a good and relaxing massage. I went to Manjakaki Foot Reflexology & Spa. They have 16 branches in the whole Malaysia and it's always good to make a booking reservation in order not to be disappointed to walk-in.

They open daily from 10am until 8pm and you can find more info at their website: https://manjakaki.com.my

I had the foot, neck and shoulder massage package for RM55 + RM3 fee for disposable gloves. The masseur, Mas (who's also the outlet supervisor) did a really good job. I prefer those who has high strength to massage me but you can always request for a softer massage strength. After the massage, I felt my body is like jelly especially my legs and feeling so relaxed. I personally recommend Manjakaki to those who are looking for a good massage place. Don't forget to check out their Year End and New Year Promotions below.

Here's their Year End and New Year Promotions which I personally think is quite attractive.

● Kampung massage (Tea Tree Oil) + Cupping + Foot Reflexology (90 minutes) for RM99

● Kampung massage (Hyaluronic Serum) + Ear candling (90 minutes) for RM110

● Body scrub with Himalayan salt + Kampung massage with aroma oil + Foot reflexology (120 minutes) for RM149

Other than those that I have mentioned above, here are the other promotions offered by some of the vendors in CITTA Mall:

Twax Studio

● Enjoy eyebrow threading service for as low as RM10 (for her) and RM13 (for him).

SOStretch

● Enjoy 2 physiotherapy treatment sessions at SOStretch from as low as RM88 when you sign up today (valid for new customers only).

BIFE Charcoal Steakhouse

● Enjoy lunch buffet from as low as RM49 at BIFE Charcoal Steakhouse starting from 12pm-3pm.

As mentioned by the mall’s General Manager, John Tam – The return of activities to the mall is an energising one. “Things have changed, obviously, such as the need to institute physical distancing measures for absolutely everything,” remarked John. “However, we’re always reminding ourselves that this should not come at the expense of our shoppers’ happiness and wellbeing. Safety and fun are not mutually exclusive. They can co-exist with the right systems in place.”
