Commonwealth Eco Forest Park & Resort Media FAM Trip and Selangor Tourism Media Appreciation Night 2022

A couple of weeks ago, I was at Commonwealth Eco Forest Park & Resort Media FAM Trip organised by Tourism Selangor. The trip was held on the 29th of July and it is located at Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve on the road to Rawang, about 24km north of Kuala Lumpur city center and approximately 3km from Rawang Town. For your information, this park is a large forest reserve of over 260 hectares of lowland dipterocarp species bordering Kanching Recreational Forest and backing on to Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM).

An overview and a guide map of the park

This park is also known as Resort Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel (RTERK) launched to commemorate the 14th Commonwealth Forest Conference in 1993, this park combines dense jungle with landscaped gardens provided with a panoramic view, formal arrangements, camping grounds, chalets, fountains monuments, jogging tracks, hiking trails, Bio Tech- stingless bee farm (kelulut) and other amenities to give visitors an idyllic choice for a greenery-clothed getaway. RTERK is now being managed by Future World Avenues Sdn. Bhd. in close collaboration with The State of Government, Tourism Selangor Sdn. Bhd. and State Forestry Department

A picture of me dabbing to welcome everyone to visit RTERK! Haha!

Tourism Selangor has picked the RTERK as the venue for programmes introducing eco-tourism-based tourist attractions and activities like glamping, jungle trekking, ATV, kayaking, and many more.

This Event Campsite provides 6m x 4m per campsite lot with a river front view. Only 5 minutes walking distance to main shower room. Rental starts from RM100 per night.

The Forest by Cik Bunga cafe for those who want to fill up their tummy or quench their thirst during their stay or participating in the activities at RTERK. Did you see a couple of orangutans hanging upside down on the ceiling? Hehehe...

I really like this multiple cereal boxes display on the wall at the cafe. Sometimes the simplest thing can be quite nice too!

Riding an ATV at RTERK was quite fun!

dboystudio in action!

If you want to explore the entire park in a faster pace, you can also rent the electric scooter (RM30 for 30 minutes) or manual scooter (RM15 for 30 minutes). Just a reminder to be very careful when you're riding it and always look around your surrounding for vehicles and other human too!

If you fancy a stay in a black teepee tent, the River Cottage that starts at RM598 per night. Full-board package at RM299 / pax with hi-tea, BBQ dinner & breakfast (1 Pax), coffee maker, Raleigh foldable bike, hammock, torch light, fire pit, board game, first aid kit, free flow hot water & ice. Also included are the complimentary disposable night sandal, bicarbonate drink & mineral water.

The White Cottage is definitely my favourite one out of all. With fully air-conditioning rooms, tv with video games, a kitchen and a shower room with rain shower feature. I fell in love with its white interior and how I wish that I can stay there for a week or more!

Next up is the Lubarcamp near the lake that offers a Bohemian style of glamping and it is definitely an Instagram worthy environment at the park.

Just me chilling right there while enjoying my cuppa coffee!

Looking right next to Lubarcamp is the lake where canoe rentals are being offered for the visitors at RM10 for 15 minutes. Overall, the Media FAM Trip was filled with plenty of activities for us to enjoy through out the day. I only wished that I could stay overnight at The White Cottage. That would checked off one of my wishlist in RTERK!
