On the 13th of December, I was invited by Tourism Selangor to attend the annual Selangor State Christmas Celebration and Open House for 2022. This event was held by the Selangor State Government at the Civic Hall, Petaling Jaya City Council. This initiative is one of the efforts of the Selangor State Government in accommodating the various religions and races that reside in the State of Selangor, in addition to increasing harmony between races and religions in Selangor.
The Selangor state government estimates a total of 3,000 visitors throughout the event, with various interesting performances from Violinist Dr Joanne Yeoh, FGT Church Choir, GA611 Church, Roman Catholic Church and Kaya Band, as well as free food for all visitors from Hijrah Selangor.

This year's Christmas celebration was made more lively with a donation to the Selangor Christian House of Worship amounting to RM 593,460.00 and a special donation to the Executive Body of the religious section in the LIMAS group (Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Sikh & Taoist) as well as a donation to 55 Christian NGOs.
Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Amirudin bin Shari, the Chief Minister of Selangor, in a statement said that the Selangor State Government will continue to protect and redouble our efforts to enhance the continued prosperity and well-being of the people. Therefore, any action that could threaten the unity of the people and the stability of the government must be avoided if we are to properly implement the development agenda to enhance the people's socioeconomic position and propel progress, particularly in rural areas.

According to the Honourable Mr. Hee Loy Sian, Tourism and Environment Exco, the uniqueness of this Open House celebration in the State of Selangor is also one of the platforms for us to highlight the celebrations in this country, which also symbolise our identity and culture. This can also attract the interest of tourists to come and visit the State of Selangor through various events with a tourism concept like this.

The organisation of celebrations, such as the Christmas celebration this year, can highlight Selangor as a harmonious state with close cooperation from various races and religions. This is not only able to increase understanding of the beliefs of other communities but also the significance of cultural diversity in Malaysia, which is one of the main pillars of this country. This effort is in line with the Pusing Selangor Dulu Campaign! which emphasises domestic tourism which is strongly supported by Malaysians from various races and religions.
