I Tried the NEW 'Ayam Kilau' at The Chicken Rice Shop

Not long ago, I went to The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) to check out their newly launched 'Ayam Kilau' for this raya season. To welcome this special month of Ramadan with Malaysians nationwide, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) introduced its all-new spicy and mouthwatering menu, the Ayam Kilau, to treat fans to a crispy, flavourful chicken.

This specially curated cuisine is available right now through May 21st, 2023, at all TCRS locations around the country. It is available in three separate packages, Meals A, B, and C, to accommodate both small and large groups.

The chicken was really crispy and packed with flavour from the marination. Don't be fooled by how it looks, it may look dry on the outside but inside it's juicy and I can taste the curry powder and turmeric flavour marination coated the chicken meat. On the side, it came with some ulam, tempe and fried tofu.

To add a good kick with it, the sambal hijau kilau is definitely must have! Pergghhh PADU Beb!

It went very well with the crispy Ayam Kilau and I washed it down with a cold glass of Slurrrp Bandung. The Slurrrp Bandung taste similar to soda gembira but you can also opt to add boba in it for only RM3.

We get together with our families and friends for a special iftar during the fasting month. As a result, TCRS is glad to devote its recently created menu to individuals who treasure this annual event. Ayam Kilau's name is derived from the Malay word kilau, which means "shine," and was influenced by the silat martial art of self-defense. The dish's tastes are a representation of boldness and tenacity and are prepared with just the proper amount of marination and combined with sambal hijau kilau to thrill your taste buds.

Wong Kah Yong, Chief Executive Officer Of TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd acknowledged that every culture possesses unique traditional ways of cooking a meal. “We are excited to recreate a dish dedicated to Ramadan and Hari Raya as we welcome everyone from various cultural backgrounds to enjoy this wholesome meal. The team worked hard in curating the right recipe for this occasion, and nothing beats having Malaysians come together to have a taste of Ayam Kilau.”

“We at TCRS take great pride in what we do, especially in offering customers the best local cuisines and introducing recipes that cater to different cultural backgrounds, without discounting the quality of the food. We hope this festive season will be filled with immense happiness and blessings,” concluded Wong.

The Chicken Rice Shop has continuously valued its consumers by providing delectable delicacies for a variety of occasions, and it plans to do so for a very long time. Additionally, TCRS is committed to improvising meals on a regular basis to unite the neighbourhood.

You have until 21st of May to try out their new menu. Do let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. To find out more information on the latest Ayam Kilau menu, visit TCRS website here or its Facebook page.
