Soar into the Year of the Dragon at Lotus's Malaysia with Sama-Sama Huat Looong Long Campaign!

Just last week, I was invited for the launch of Lotus’s Malaysia CNY campaign – 大家 (da jia, Everyone) Sama-Sama Huat Looong Long (SSHLL). Lotus’s Malaysia kicks off its Lunar New Year celebration this CNY campaign to usher in the year of the Wood Dragon. From now until 14 February 2024, customers are set to enjoy special Chinese New Year (CNY) promotions, great rewards and activities when they shop at Lotus’s stores and malls.

In anticipation of the prosperity that the Year of the Dragon promises to bring, the theme reflects the potential for long-term growth, progress and abundance together with its customers, partners and communities.


Lee May Li Lee, Commercial Director for Lotus’s Malaysia, said, “Ushering the year of the Dragon, we keep in mind what it symbolizes and that is a promising year filled with opportunities and good fortune. We hope to attract more shoppers who sees Lotus’s as a retailer that caters to their individual needs and even their families through great offers and a bountiful selection of over 1,000 CNY key line products as well as family fun engagements and activities”.


“Throughout the campaign period, customers will get to sample, win prizes and purchase at promotional prices for the many known brands that are exhibiting in the Lotus’s CNY Pavillion located at 23 of our stores. Some of the most sought out items made available in-store and online are XL – XXL tiger prawns, frozen cooked Canadian lobsters & Australian banana prawns, fresh salmon Yee Sang, Premium New Moon Abalone Gift Sets and a wide selection of beverages”.

In conjunction with the festivities, Lotus’s Malaysia’s Customer Executive Director, Vivian Yap spoke of the plenty shopping rewards for My Lotus’s members such as unlocking and enjoying a year-long of savings with exclusive vouchers totaling up to more than RM3.8 million on top of points earned when they shop with the retailer both in-store, online and at their food courts. Further to this, members will also receive six personalized product coupons monthly until December 2024. Meanwhile, new sign-ups to its loyalty programme will also enjoy four discount coupons on the first month of signing up.

Injecting the element of fun for families this festive season, the retailer is using Augmented Reality (AI) in its 62 malls for shoppers to spot its Looong Long Dragon, giving shoppers an interactive experience from 11 January to 24 February 2024. Using your own digital devices, shoppers can scan the QR code provided and follow simple steps to catch the dragon in the many locations within its malls to enjoy more saving vouchers from its participating tenants.

Other activities lined up include spotting the Lotus’s Looong Long Truck at four of locations (Lotus’s Kepong, Lotus’s Desa Tebrau, Lotus’s Melaka and Lotus’s Penang E-Gate) to win prizes ranging from RM38 to RM188, totaling up to RM30,000. Shoppers will also get to meet known influencers and radio DJs during its CNY Roadshow. To further showcase its commitment to championing sustainability, Lotus’s encourages consumers to recycle their aluminium drink cans and plastic cookie containers for charity at its Looong Long Recycling Treasure Chest located at Lotus’s Bandar Puteri Jaya, Lotus’s Kepong, Lotus’s Bahau, Lotus’s Penang E-Gate, Lotus’s Indera Makhota and Lotus’s Desa Tebrau.

Proceeds raised from recycling will be channeled to rehabilitation and physiotherapy programmes conducted by Tender Touch Pediatric Rehab, who specializes in helping children with mobility disorders from low-income families to reach their fullest potential. For their effort, consumers will be rewarded during the allocated time and dates with a 50% off a single meal at its food courts
