The Grand Opening of Gamuda Luge Gardens with the Unveiling of Eye of Gardens Ferris Wheel and Vroomerang Ride

I was at the grand opening ceremony of Gamuda Luge Gardens which has been officiated by Y.A.B Dato' Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor that marks another significant milestone for Gamuda Land. Gamuda Luge Gardens is a new tourism attraction located in the popular Gamuda Gardens township featuring a variety of attractions designed for family fun, including the renowned Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur and the family friendly FunPark and waterplay attraction, Big Bucket Splash.

Speaking at the event, Y.A.B Dato' Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, emphasised the strategic significance of Gamuda Luge Gardens for Selangor's tourism sector, "The addition of Gamuda Luge Gardens, featuring the first-ever Skyline Luge in Malaysia and a vibrant entertainment hub in the northern Klang Valley corridor, reinforces Selangor's position as a premier tourist destination. Last year, Selangor welcomed 6.54 million tourists. With these new attractions, it supports the state to achieving our target of 7 million tourist arrivals for Visit Selangor Year 2025. This development not only enhances the state's unique tourism offerings but also aligns with our broader strategy to attract leading international brands and elevate the overall visitor experience in Selangor."

"Since its soft launch in December 2023, Gamuda Luge Gardens has quickly become a landmark destination in the northern Klang Valley corridor, attracting over 420,000 visitors including overseas visitors. This underscores our dedication to good placemaking for our community by creating places where they can be out in nature, get to know one another and ultimately to form close-knitted communities that support one another,” said YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Setia Haji Ambrin Bin Buang, Chairman of Gamuda Berhad.

Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Haji Amirudin Bin Shari, Menteri Besar Selangor signed the plaque, to officially mark the opening of Gamuda Luge Gardens and also Eye of Gardens, officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the tallest and largest Ferris wheel in a theme park.

He continued by saying, “As Gamuda Gardens continues to mature, with a current population of over 8,000 residents, we look forward to welcoming new additions and strategic partnerships like Skyline Luge to add value to our residents. Besides leisure and entertainment, we also look forward to having more F&B operators for our commercial developments, clinics and pharmacies, schools and lifestyle amenities that will help enrich the life of our community.”

The official launch of Gamuda Luge Gardens signifies a new era of excitement at the township, with the unveiling of two new attractions, signifying the full operations of FunPark. These include the Ferris wheel, Eye of Gardens, officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the tallest and largest Ferris wheel in a theme park, and the thrilling Vroomerang ride.

With these additions, FunPark now offers a complete experience, complementing its existing attractions: Jellycup Twist, Fruity Frenzy, Jumpshot, Carousel, and the 10,000-square-foot Big Bucket Splash waterplay area.

Big Bucket Splash

Eye of Gardens stands as an iconic landmark, soaring to a height of 50 metres. Offering panoramic views of the township's lush surroundings, visitors can ascent aboard the tallest Ferris wheel in a theme park, capturing breathtaking views of Gamuda Gardens. Adjacent to the Eye of Gardens, Vroomerang awaits thrill-seekers, promising an adrenaline-fuelled experience. This turntable coaster ride whirls and twists along a 10-metre-high track, ensuring unforgettable moments of excitement and exhilaration for all.

Eye of Gardens

Adding to the excitement, Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur, celebrated for its gravity-fuelled luge rides, announces the upcoming launch of its Hyfly, the first-in-Malaysia dualling zipline, set to debut by the end of 2024, further enhancing the array of attractions at Gamuda Luge Gardens. With this addition, Gamuda Luge Gardens remained poised to meet its annual visitorship of 720,000.

Vroomerang Ride

With the opening of Gamuda Luge Gardens, GL Play is reintroducing beloved characters as the all-new GL Play Squad. Formerly known as SplashMania Waterpark's Splash Squad, Zoomi the Orangutan, Omba’ King the Dugong, Swaggy B the Sun Bear, and Max the Otter will now serve as mascots for GL Play's various locations and offerings. In this new role, they embody the spirit of fun and adventure, embarking on exciting escapades across Gamuda Land townships.

Jellycup Twist

As FunPark and Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur ignite the excitement within Gamuda Luge Gardens, the next chapter unfolds with The Atrium. This mixed-use development plot located adjacent to Skyline Luge and FunPark will be unveiled in phases, boasting a diverse tenant mix comprising F&B, retail, entertainment, and more, to cater to the thriving community at Gamuda Gardens and its surrounding vicinity.

Fruity Frenzy

Envisioned as a fully pedestrianised space, The Atrium harmonises with the bustling foot traffic from FunPark and Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur, featuring an open-space layout conducive to relaxation and exploration. Adding to the appeal, The Atrium will house an extension of the fun components, including an indoor theme park and a variety of F&B outlets.

Carousel

In terms of connectivity, a complimentary shuttle bus service is currently operational between the residential enclave at Waterfront Village and Gamuda Luge Gardens, ensuring seamless access for both residents and visitors alike. Additionally, a shuttle bus service operated by Prasarana is also available from the MRT Sungai Buloh station to Gamuda Gardens and Gamuda Luge Gardens.
