Addressing the Growing Need for Dialysis in Malaysia
According to the Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy, chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects over 5 million of Malaysia’s population and more than 10,000 people are newly diagnosed as needing dialysis each year. To address this, Malaysia’s Ministry of Health has emphasized the need to expand home-based dialysis therapy, prioritizing the Peritoneal Dialysis (Home Dialysis) First Policy. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to enhancing the management of end-stage kidney disease.
