Senyuman Paling Bernilai: #KitakanJiran Ramadan Cookout & Nationwide Donations Impact Thousands

In embracing the spirit of Ramadan, Lotuss Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia) reaffirmed its dedication to charitable community support and volunteerism by successfully hosting its fourth annual #KitakanJiran Ramadan Cookout. This initiative, part of its ongoing 'Senyuman Paling Bernilai' campaign, focused on spreading joy and smiles to vulnerable communities with the provisions of nutritious iftar meals and essential necessities.

The cookout, held exclusively at Lotus’s Kajang in collaboration with long-standing charity partner Food Aid Foundation, successfully provided hot iftar meals for 600 Kajang community members. This effort was made possible by over 60 dedicated volunteers from Lotus’s and Food Aid Foundation. Specifically, 500 meals were distributed to residents of Pusat Jagaan Insan Nur Cahaya, Pertubuhan Ikhlas Malaysia, Pusat Jagaan Sinar Cahaya, Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah Malaysia, Persatuan Kebajikan Siti Nor Aini, Pertubuhan Kebajikan & Bimbingan At-Taqwa, and Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah. Additionally, 100 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Pusat Pengasih Warga Prihatin and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur were invited to the outlet for a special evening of fun and camaraderie with the popular locally animated siblings – Omar & Hana, followed by iftar and Maghrib prayers at the Surau Saujana Impian.

“Ramadan is a good time that inspires reflection and the act of giving. Through Sadaqah and the preparation of these iftar meals, we continue to bring smiles to vulnerable communities, ensuring their access towards nutritious food. It's incredibly rewarding to see our colleagues and brand partners unite to share this spirit of kindness and contribute essential support to ease the upcoming Ramadan and Raya preparations,” said Azliza Azmel, Corporate Services Executive Director from Lotus’s Malaysia.

The cookout's impact was amplified by the generous participation of brand partners, including Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn. Bhd. (Brand: Adabi), Coca-Cola Refreshments (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Brand: Minute Maid & Fuze Tea), Fraser & Neave (Malaya) Sdn. Bhd. (Brand: 100 Plus), Mondelēz Malaysia Sales Sdn. Bhd. (Brand: Cadbury), Etika Sdn. Bhd. (Brand: Tropicana), and Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (Brands: Lady’s Choice, Knorr), and Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad (Brand: Maggi). Further support was provided by mall tenants such as Kings Confectionery Sdn. Bhd., Bata Primavera Sdn. Bhd., G-One Trading Sdn. Bhd. (Playland), Gintell (M) Sdn. Bhd., and Moliform Sdn. Bhd. Adding to the Ramadan festivities, Lotus's volunteers, together with Maggi distributed 1,200 bowls of traditional bubur lambuk to customers at Lotus's Kajang.

To further enhance the children's experience, Lotus’s incorporated engaging activities featuring Omar & Hana at its Kajang mall area. The children were delighted by interactive sessions with the beloved characters, video games session and art and craft activities.

“I am incredibly grateful for the diverse support from our brand partners and mall tenants, who have generously provided products, vouchers, and tokens, amounting to over RM42,600. The 500 beneficiaries will receive essential groceries and drinks, while each invited child from the two homes will be treated to a RM50 Lotus’s voucher, RM150 discount vouchers from Bata, exciting arcade tokens from Playland, and exclusive Omar & Hana merchandise, along with the groceries and drinks.”

Throughout Ramadan, Lotus’s extended its #KitakanJiran Ramadan activities with a month-long donation drive, uniting with various brand partners to contribute essential items. An estimated RM250,000 worth of fresh whole chickens, staple commodities, beverages, confectionery, and sauces were distributed to 16,000 individuals at 40 mosques across Peninsular Malaysia.

Additionally, throughout the Ramadan and Hari Raya seasons, Lotus’s is collaborating with Mondelez Malaysia (brand: Cadbury) to host the #Cadberi Goodness Station at 23 selected Lotus’s malls. From 1 March to 30 April 2025, customers can donate essential items like dry food groceries, cooking oil, and hygiene products, which will be channeled to the Food Aid Foundation. As a token of appreciation, a Cadbury chocolate bar will be rewarded for each contribution; simply submit a photo of your donation via the QR code on the bins. (Terms & Conditions apply).

To further enhance the Ramadan and Hari Raya experience, Lotus’s launched its Senyuman Paling Bernilai Ramadan-Raya 2025 campaign in February. Customers can enjoy up to 50% discounts on 4,500 items across various categories, participate in Raya World events at 32 Lotus’s stores, shop affordable RAHMAH apparel ranging from RM35 - RM89 at 53 stores, and stand a chance to win over RM1 million in prizes through the Tap-Tap Ketupat Game and the My Debit Syiokkk Raya Campaign.

Adding to the festive cheer, Omar & Hana will be exclusively at Lotus’s Kajang from 20 March to 30 March 2025. Children can enjoy a series of engaging activities, including meet & greets with Omar & Hana, the Find the Sampul Raya Game, the Omar & Hana On Duty Game, pelita lamp art and craft, and colouring activities.
