The wait is finally over. After being teased in mid last year and the Dongfeng 007 with a right hand drive being spotted in November, it has now launched today alongside with the Dongfeng VIGO electric SUV. The latest expansion marks a new phase in Dongfeng’s Malaysia journey, as Volt Auto partners with Central Auto Distributors Bhd to introduce next-generation electric vehicles designed for modern lifestyles, intelligent performance, and everyday usability, in line with Malaysia’s growing adoption of electric mobility.
Dongfeng expands its EV portfolio in Malaysia with the Dongfeng 007 and VIGO
As part of the launch, Dongfeng is offering an extended ownership package for both the Dongfeng 007 and Dongfeng VIGO, which includes a free ABB wall box, a six-year vehicle warranty with unlimited mileage, and an eight-year powertrain warranty with unlimited mileage.
Dongfeng 007: A Next-Generation Electric Sedan
Leading this new phase is the Dongfeng 007, a next-generation electric sedan engineered for drivers who value performance, bold design, and advanced technology.
Defined by its sleek liftback silhouette and futuristic design language, the Dongfeng 007 represents Dongfeng’s vision for modern electric sedans — combining speed, intelligence, and everyday usability.

Dongfeng VIGO: A Lifestyle-Driven Electric SUV
Making its Malaysian debut alongside the 007 is the Dongfeng VIGO, created to support everyday life, family needs, and active lifestyles. Built for daily commutes and weekend escapes, the VIGO offers generous interior space within a compact SUV footprint.
Here are some of the key features:
• 500-litre boot with an additional 72-litre hidden compartment,
• “Heaven and Earth Gate” split tailgate, capable of supporting up to 150 kg.

• DC charging up to 167 kW, from 30%-80% in 9 minutes
As for the inside, the VIGO’s Smart Cockpit is anchored by a 12.8-inch HD touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered by a high-performance chip for seamless connectivity. Intelligent scene modes — Rest, Camping, and Music Speaker — allow the cabin to adapt intuitively to different journeys.
Convenience and lifestyle features include a 50W wireless fast-charging pad, panoramic sunroof, 256-colour ambient lighting with music synchronisation, and 3.3 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, enabling the vehicle to power outdoor equipment and appliances.
Driving confidence is enhanced with Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a 540° panoramic camera with transparent chassis view, making parking and low-speed manoeuvres intuitive. Cabin refinement is further elevated with 37 layers of sound insulation and an ultra-low 18 dB powertrain noise level. There's only a single Dongfeng VIGO variant and it is priced from RM100,000 valid for Peninsular Malaysia only (after special launch discount of RM8,888).

The company has also announced plans to explore local knock-down (KD) assembly in the region, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Malaysia’s EV ecosystem, advancing clean mobility adoption, and creating long-term economic opportunities. Perhaps the prices for their CKD EVs will be even more affordable after this.
