Last Saturday, I was at Eco Majestic City Park in Semenyih for Royal Canin Malaysia's “Purrfect Adventure” event. The vibrant two-day event which was co-hosted with EcoWorld held on Saturday, 9 May and Sunday, 10 May 2026 marked the first stop of Royal Canin’s nationwide activation tour, designed to spotlight the importance of ‘Start of Life’, an early-life nutrition for kitten and puppies, and responsible pet ownership through engaging, science-led experiences.
These integrated experiences were thoughtfully designed to mirror a pet owner’s real journey, from the initial decision to adopt, to gaining essential knowledge on responsible care and nutrition, to accessing trusted expert advice, and ultimately, to making informed purchasing decisions with ease.
Set against a relaxed, nature-filled backdrop, the event came alive through Royal Canin’s four beloved mascots - Finn, Brody, Oyen, and Luna - each representing a crucial pillar of the ‘Start of Life’ journey. Designed to simplify complex nutritional science into relatable, engaging storytelling, these mascots guided attendees through the foundational building blocks that shape a kitten’s lifelong health, from immune system support through Finn, to Brody’s focus on the long growth period, Oyen’s emphasis on brain and vision development, and Luna’s spotlight on digestive health and muscle tone.
“As a brand grounded in science and driven by our purpose of creating A Better World for Pets, we believe that a pet’s health journey begins from the very first moments of life,” said Ms Teh Meng Li, Market Head of Royal Canin Malaysia and Singapore. “With ‘Purrfect Adventure’, we wanted to bring this important message to life in a way that is both accessible and memorable for Malaysian pet owners. By translating our Start of Life philosophy through engaging storytelling, interactive touchpoints, and meaningful experiences, we hope to empower pet parents with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions from the very beginning. Because when given the right nutrition, care, and environment early on, every kitten has the opportunity to grow into a healthy, thriving companion for years to come.”
Anchoring the experience was the Purr Discovery Journey, an interactive NFC-based activation featuring six different touchpoints where attendees could test their knowledge on feline health and nutrition.
By scanning and answering questions via NFC technology, participants who correctly answered at least four out of six questions were rewarded with exclusive Royal Canin merchandise alongside wet food pouches from the Start of Life or Hair & Skin ranges - empowering pet owners with the right knowledge on pet care and nutrition.
Throughout the weekend, attendees also benefited from daily Ask The Vet Sessions, offering direct access to professional advice on pet health, nutrition, and responsible ownership.
Beyond education, the event also encouraged hands-on bonding moments through a limited-capacity Purrfect Hideaway station (Cat House Workshop).
This activity allowed pet owners to design and customise a safe, comfortable sanctuary for their feline companions, highlighting the importance of the environment in a pet’s early development.
The event space was further enhanced with numerous picture-perfect installations, inviting guests to capture and share their experiences across social media, while the Starlight Cinema provided a unique evening wind-down with pet-themed movie screenings under the stars; a cosy setting for pets and owners to relax together.
Adding to the heartwarming atmosphere was the Cat Adoption Booth, where visitors had the opportunity to give cats a forever home with Royal Canin Partner Organisation for Adoption, highlighting the importance of responsible adoption and championing proper nutrition and care from the Start of Life.
More than just an event, “Purrfect Adventure” was a celebration of the bond between pets and their owners - an open, free-flowing space filled with laughter, learning, and shared moments. Whether attending as devoted pet parents, aspiring adopters, or families seeking a meaningful weekend outing, visitors left with not only fond memories, but also a deeper understanding of how the right Start of Life can shape a pet’s future.
The majority of the “Purrfect Adventure” event was powered by Royal Canin’s loyalty membership programme, the Royal Canin Club - sign up here to enjoy exclusive perks and rewards.
