My Visit to MISF 2013 at Putra World Trade Center KL

Last Sunday, I went to over to PWTC KL to to look for some great shoe bargains at the Malaysia International Shoe Festival (MISF). The event has already started since last Thursday for traders and open for public on Friday. Themed ‘1Malaysia - Walking in Unity, Sole of the Nation’, this fourth edition festival has seen more than 150 local and international brands including Fiorucci, Snowfly, Larrie, Verns, Geox, Good Arch, Alfio Rado, Ecco, Timberland and many more.

This is the biggest sculpture made of shoelace, yes an huge amount of shoelaces in this sculpture!

The objective of this event is to promote Malaysia’s footwear industry as a new niche in the lifestyle tourism sector and they had receive more than 65,000 local and international shoe enthusiasts and visitors.

The massive crowd at the event, majority were parents with kids, senior citizens and young adults.

The Perak Footwear Industry Association was also one of the participant for this event.

Ladies, look at all those shoes! Buy 1 for RM20, but 2 for RM30... so it's just RM15 each! Cheap?

Through out the event, visitors that spent RM300 and above, and sharing a photo at MISF 2013 on https://www.facebook.com/misfshoe will get to participate in the ‘Shop & Win’ contest.

The ‘Shop & Win’ contest and the grand prize is the Hyundai i10 car worth RM56,000 sponsored by Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Sdn Bhd.

GoodArch is at the event educating the visitors about their posture and problems with their feet.

A french brand, Kickers attracted a lot of men with its decent quality, neatly carved and beautifully designed boots and leather shoes.

Some retro but comfortable shoes for the ladies, Chotima Moda is known as one of the top brand to produce sandals in Thailand.

Timberland shoes selling for up to 50% discount. Murah-murah weih!

Previously I was quite amazed with the lightness of the new PUMA Suede design but after getting hold of one of the boots from KyBoot, I was really shocked that they finally came up with a super light boots! It really matches their tagline walk on air. If only I always can have the chance to do jungle trekking, I'll be getting one pair of these.

Visitors were also given a chance to discover how the designers can easily design a show with proper equipment, software and of course creativity in shoe designing.

Tired walking after browsing through out the event, visitors can sit down at one of the corner to have some food and beverages before continue to shop again.

The latest collection from Malaysia’s tourism ambassador and shoe couturier Professor Dato’ (Dr.) Jimmy Choo showcased exclusively here. The set up for this looks majestic and stunning.

Just look at the display, got chandelier lights some more for every pair of Jimmy Choo's.

These are some of the shoes displayed at the showcase area. I'm sure a pair of them cost at least 4-digits.

More photos can be viewed at my Facebook page MISF 2013 album here.

The MISF 2013 is not just only about selling shoes but it's also to educate the visitors.

The 'Healthy Feet Talk' was conducted by GoodARCH Chong Ching Chang Professor. I like his name, very easy to pronounce and remember.

There's also a showcase of wedding shoes by our local designer. Some of the shoes, I myself admit was indeed very pretty and if a man said it's pretty, the ladies would say it's SO GORGEOUS! :D

Apart of that, there's also some other showcases and I have taken some of the photos from the Miniature Shoe competition below.

Forgot to snap a picture of the 1st prize winner but here's the 2nd and 3rd winner's display.

This caught my attention Marvel vs DC miniature shoes!

There was also a showcase before entering the exhibition outside of the shoes from the Malaysia Footwear Design Competition 2012. It seems that Malaysian is really talented and can make it to the international market.

For those who just arrived at the event, they were seen at this QR code scanning wall where they will receive a cash voucher or a premium gift.

Remember about the shoe colouring competition for kids that I'd talk about previously? The winner of this walk away with the grand prize worth RM3388 + trophy!

Some of the colourful shoes coloured by the children with the company of the parents of course. Not sure who won the first prize but all of them look really lovely to me.
