High Tea Session with Meet Fresh @ Pavilion KL

Last Sunday, I was invited to attend the High Tea Session with Meet Fresh press conference at Pavilion KL. Meet Fresh is a Taiwanese dessert chain that prides itself on preserving the authentic taste of yesteryears when food was handmade by the sellers and ingredients were of the highest quality and fresh. I first tried their Taiwanese dessert in one of their outlet in One Utama last year.

This is a part of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs’ (MOEA) effort in reaching out to neighbouring countries, its Bureau of Foreign Trade jointly with “Meet Fresh” invited members of the media and bloggers for a high tea session at the latter’s outlet in Pavilion KL. The high tea enabled the guests to have an authentic taste of Taiwan’s delicacies and other wholesome treats.

Established in 2007 with millions invested to create a six-star comfortable dining experience for its patrons, “Meet Fresh” is a Taiwanese dessert chain that prides itself on preserving the authentic taste of yesteryears when food was handmade by the sellers and ingredients were of the highest quality and fresh. The taro dessert is one of its notable bestsellers.

Fans who “LIKE” its Facebook page “Meet Fresh Malaysia” on that particular day from 2pm onward and show it to the outlets’ personnel will receive a RM2 cash voucher to be used for any dessert purchase.

At the high tea session, we had the opportunity to sample the different types of “Meet Fresh” desserts. All of us also received “Meet Fresh” membership card that entitled them to discounts on their next purchases. Similarly, public can get their hands on the membership card when they spend any amount at “Meet Fresh” outlets on that particular day.

Opening Speech by Taiwan Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur Representative, Miss Jessie Teng.

Opening Speech by Malaysia Meet Fresh Director, Mr Danny Lim.

During his speech, each of us were served with the Winter Melon Tea with Mini Taro Ball.

The emcee of the event interviewed Malaysia Meet Fresh Director Mr Danny Lim. He said that he visited Taiwan a few years ago and he was attracted with the Taiwanese dessert offered by Meet Fresh and when he came back to Malaysia, he decided to open the first Meet Fresh outlet in Malaysia.

They have four signature bestsellers, namely taro balls, herbal jelly, tofu pudding and fusion tea. “Meet Fresh” patrons particularly loved the Taro Balls Dessert 4, Meet Fresh Signature Herbal Jelly , Peanuts Tofu Pudding and Winter Melon Tea with Mini Taro Ball.

Taro Balls Dessert 4
The Taro Ball Dessert 4 has 4 different condiments served on a bowl of scrapped ice with red beans, sago pearls, taro balls and yam. This is actually a typical Taiwanese dessert that is widely offered but this is a very refreshing dessert to have during the hot weather.

Meet Fresh Signature Herbal Jelly
The Meet Fresh Signature Herbal Jelly is herb blended ice topped with herbal jelly and taro balls with cream. This is my favorite Taiwanese dessert among all as I personally prefer herbal jelly and the sweet blended ice that compliment well with the bitterness of the jelly.

Peanuts Tofu Pudding
This is the Peanuts Tofu Pudding with tofu pudding (taufu-fah), peanuts, syrup and scrapped ice. I am very sure a lot of adults will approve this as the surface of the tofu pudding is indeed very smooth but the syrup is not too sweet.

Winter Melon Tea with Mini Taro Ball
Last but not least is the Winter Melon Tea with Mini Taro Ball which I had earlier during the director's speech. The taste of the Winter Melon isn't strong enough for my liking but the mini taro balls are quite chewy and it's not really sweet.
