Yesterday, Astro together with the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS), launched Jaguh Rakan Muda, a new reality show that celebrates the strength, courage, and unity of Malaysian youths. This bold physical reality competition aims to inspire a new generation to rise to the challenge, showcasing their resilience, teamwork, and determination through a series of physical and mental tests that push them to their limits. Packed with energy and emotion, Jaguh Rakan Muda premieres on 10 November 2025, airing every Monday at 9:00PM on Astro Ria (CH 104), 9:30PM on Astro AEC (CH 306) and 11:30PM on Astro Vinmeen (CH 202). Episodes will also be available for streaming on Astro GO and sooka.
At its core, Jaguh Rakan Muda is a space for Malaysian youths to challenge themselves, grow, and unlock their potential through the Rakan Muda program's ten lifestyle pillars — Rakan Demokrasi (Democracy), Rakan Litar (Motorsports), Rakan Aktif (Active Lifestyle), Rakan Bumi (Environment), Rakan Digital (Digital), Rakan Ekspresi (Expression), Rakan Muzik (Music), Rakan Mahir (Skills), Rakan Niaga (Entrepreneurship), and Rakan Prihatin (Care and Welfare). The series reflects Astro’s commitment to homegrown content that celebrates our youth by showcasing participants who embody courage, teamwork, and determination to inspire and unite Malaysians.

Selected through nationwide auditions held across 5 zones, North (Penang), Central (Kuala Lumpur), East Coast (Terengganu) and East Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak), Jaguh Rakan Muda brings together Malaysian youths aged 13 to 30 from diverse backgrounds — including students, fitness instructors, beauty pageant contestants, content creators, para-athletes, and working professionals.

Contestants will face intense physical and mental challenges that test their endurance, leadership, and emotional strength. As a national reality program, it aims to uncover young heroes and inspire viewers through stories of courage and teamwork. The winning team will be crowned Jaguh Rakan Muda and win a grand prize of RM100,000.

Jaguh Rakan Muda will be hosted by Mat Redho, a familiar television personality and national athlete who won three silver medals at the 2019 SEA Games. Joining him as commentators are Goh Liu Ying, Olympic silver medalist and national badminton icon, and Ain Edruce, who brings her trademark energy and charisma to the show. Guest commentators featured throughout the series will include Intan Serah, Bang Med, Que Haidar, and Denes Kumar, each offering unique perspectives to the competition.
