The Salted Egg Yolk Crispy Chicken (RM9.90) is similar to the signature XXL Crispy Chicken but coated with salted egg yolk sauce. Other than the chicken, there's also two new drinks which is the Tarok Milk Blended and Papaya Milk Blended. Both are priced at RM5.90 or we can opt for the combo at RM15.50 for the chicken and any of the two drinks.

Run For Your Lives Malaysia 2016

On New Year's Eve, I participated in Run For Your Lives Malaysia 2016 held at Taman Botani Negara, Shah Alam. I reached the venue around 7.30pm and saw a big crowd lining up to collect their t-shirts and tags. For those who have not heard about this event, Run For Your Lives is the world’s premier Zombie-infested obstacle course.

Participants assume the role of either a Survivor or a Zombie in this one-of-a-kind event filled with thrilling chases, rocking music and a kick-ass dance party finale. Part obstacle course, part music festival, and a full on encounter with "the running dead", Run For Your Lives promises a fun day (and night) with friends, colleagues and evil ex-bosses alike. For survivor, they are given three flags that indicates three lives to be placed around their waist. If all three flags are taken by the zombie, the survivor will then turn into infected.

Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet at Lavo, Menara Lien Hoe

I know that Chinese New Year is about two weeks away but it was only three weeks ago that we have celebrated Christmas Day. On Christmas eve, I was invited to attend the Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet at Lavo.

Lavo which is located at Menara Lien Hoe in Petaling Jaya is a restaurant and lounge that opens with visual feast of modern contemporary furnishing in a chic, industrial setting. We can take a seat and browse through their delectable menu of fusion dishes made from fresh ingredients that tantalize the taste buds. I am impressed with their wine gallery, comprising a large selection of whites and reds which are the perfect partner with their food menu.

The Eighth Avenue @ Publika KL (Food Review)

I was invited to a food review at The Eight Avenue which is located at Publika, Kuala Lumpur. Describing themselves as a gastro-pub, they specialised in good quality food inspired from different countries and offers a great selections of alcoholic drinks from a glass of beer, wine or even whiskey.

Beer Marinated Pork Ribs (RM53.90)
Their signature main dishes which mostly based on pork, making it an easy decision for me to satisfy my pork cravings. The first dish I'm introducing here is the Beer Marinated Pork Ribs which comes with jacket potato, onion rings and side of garden salad. The pork rib is from baby back ribs marinated for 8 hours with beer and other secret ingredient roasted to perfection. The tenderness of the pork rib was irresistible and the beer marination does not taste too strong.

Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik Workshop at Green Tomato Cafe

I would say nasi lemak is by far one of the best breakfast for me and I will agree if someone or an organization want to it as one of our national food. Serve it together with a cup of teh tarik (pulled tea), it's a perfect match. I had never cooked nasi lemak from scratch and the opportunity to attend a nasi lemak and teh tarik workshop made me feel excited.

Thanks to Green Tomato Cafe, I was given a two hour workshop to cook nasi lemak and to make my own teh tarik. The cafe is located at Yayasan Seni which is pretty close to Gleneagles Hospital along Jalan Ampang. Green Tomato Café (GTC) is located next to myBatik workshop where visitors can view the batik making process and try the hands-on experience. MyBatik is founded by batik Artist Emilia Tan since 2004 and now she is promoting traditional local cuisine cooking workshop in Green Tomato Café on a daily basis. The on-boarding of Chef Rica inspired Emilia to push the traditional cooking workshop into the public.
